I guess we see the picture differently. This looks like complete shock and emotional break down to me... at least for Haruhi. I mean, the girl barely (if ever) cries to begin with, barely (if ever) gets cheeks that red, and even her mouth doesn't usually contort that much on a scream.

I can kind of see this causing Haruhi complete shock and emotional break down.

So, this definitely works for me.

And, I share your sense of humor here. This alien abduction idea is a lot funnier to me than Haruhi looking like this pic on a romantic confession.

Actually, for me, if Haruhi looks like this on a meaningful romantic confession, that's made of utter and complete fail. I like Haruhi because she's charismatic, dynamic, and strong... and she has a great character design. If she's going to be romantically confessing to someone... it can certainly be spur of the moment, and she can blush a bit; maybe cry a little bit - but I certainly don't want her screaming her head off. That's way too cliche for Haruhi. I prefer to think of Haruhi as much more suave (in a feminine way) than that.

Perhaps. One thing that sticks out in my mind is how Haruhi explained how what got her to dump all those various guys that she dated was how none of them had the guts to confess their feelings to her. So... the likelihood of a romantic confession coming from Haruhi seems pretty slim to me; she seems to hold that to be the guy's role. However, if she felt so strongly about a guy that she felt that she needed to confess to him first... I think she'd be pretty strong in how she did it - holding herself to her own high romantic confession standards.

I can even easily imagine her saying...

"Now, John Smith (I'll use a generic name here, *ahem*

), I really, really like you because of X, Y, and Z! You're a really extraordinary guy, and that's why I want you to be my boyfriend!"

Agreed. This is definately OC for Haruhi. Despire our dreams, there is no way Haruhi would ever go this over the top DereDere romantically speaking.

Getting passed over by Mr. Starman though...

I hate K-Onified Haruhi. Haruhi (2006 style) looked perfect the way she is.

Mikuru is cute enough as it is.

Yuki's deadpan expression combined with the K-On art style, though, is simply a hilarious and adorable contrast. It also makes her hair look nicer.
