Smile A missing series in the forums... Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto

I once visited animenfo (my reference bible of anime) and that momment it came out as a random "must-see" this anime: Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto.
I went to animesuki and found there was a batch download from boxtorrents so I went there and began downloading it.

You know when someone touchs you and that day you can say "oh man, I feel lucky"? So I think I was like that. Someone must had "touched" me, because I found one of those series that makes you happy and makes you cry at the same time, one of those animes that makes you watch urgently the next chapter after and after again.

So that it is, Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto, one of the most tender series I've ever watched, but one of those masterpiece anime underrepresented by chaotic titles like kimi ga nozomu eien or Onegai teacher.

So if you are fed up with waiting for the new chapters of Planetes and want to watch a tender, cute & well drawn anime with a nice and clear story-line, I really recomend you Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto.

What do you think about this? oh! masters of the anime worlds ??

Greetings from Spain
Reb.

Someday's Dreamers...

This title is known as 'Someday's Dreamers' in English, and is licensed by Geneon.

The series Web site is here: http://www.somedaysdreamers.com/

The box and cover art for the DVDs is stunning, IMHO. Also this series
seems to be a lot more "rewatchable" than I imagined -- while I also got
Last Exile vol.2 in the same order, I watched the 1st Mahou Tsukai ni
Taisetsu na Koto
disc completely first.

I'd have to agree with you, especially since I spent yesterday
rewatching the first two DVDs among other things. (I can't wait
for tomorrow... the last volume...) The box art is amazing, so
too is the DVD cover art. Although, I've still haven't gotten used
to Geneon's translation of the series... (Mages no longer seem to
use 'magic [mahou]' but rather 'the Power' or 'the Special Power'
... and yes, they capitalize it )

Translations always sucks.
It happens the same thing in Spain. The translations (depending who licensed the series) are awful, but meritory exceptions. That's why I always try to find fansubbed versions of the series, including licensed ones (yeah, i'm sorry but I can't stand bad translations//dubs)

After reading the scanlations of the manga yesterday I've ordered vol 2 + 3 today.

The manga story is quite a bit different than the anime though...

It depends on the company, but most of the time, translations done from a taped broadcast on TV can't really be expected to be better than translations done often from the written script, by professional translators paid for their work. I haven't checked out many fansubs lately, but most of the ones I've randomly seen have spotty translations at best. (No, not citing examples, that would take far too much room in a thread where this is off-topic anyways.)

Some of the dumber changes are often made on the Japanese end, forced onto the company providing the english version. I wouldn't be surprised if "special power" was such a case.

there's a manga?

I saw the entire anime. Love it. I recommend others to purchase this series if you're into the character based anime. Not really fast pace, nor intense, but still very good.

I was just wondering a few things. There's a manga? Is the manga licensed? Where can I get it?

Also, does anyone know where to get the opening song? I already bought the soundtrack, but I hear there were some problems between the companies thus the opening song was not included.

Okay, I'm done. ^_^

I just discovered this lovely little series. It's a shame that it's been so overlooked.
It's not bad... almost comparable to Haibane Renmei, without the atmosphere and style.

Also, for those who have seen the whole thing, how strong do the echhi overtones with the guys get? Nowadays, I get paranoid whenever I see attractive male character designs, ehehe...

There is nothing after the shirtlessness of the first episode. ^^;

No need to fear.

Differences in manga...form my failing memory...

Spoiler:

This posters for this show are just stunningly drawn, which created quite a bit of attention before this anime was shown in Japan.

I did notice the show had al ight airy soft feeling to its artwork, al ot like Haibane Renmei. I have vol 1 of it and I love the show. Ill finish getting hte series eventually but several more prominnent titles currently have my attention. The show is really relaxed, focusing heavily on character development and some of the wonderful magic feeling of showsl ike Haibane Renmei. Its a great watch and very recommended.

Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto

Has anyone seen this? I believe it's called "Someday's Dreamer(s)". Can't remember if it's Dreamer or Dreamers. Hell, can't remember if it's Somedays or Someday's.

How long ago did it air? What's everyone's general opinion of this?
(In other words, I thought that just putting up a topic entitled "Someday's Dreamer" and just adding one line "guyz iz it gud cuz i mihgt wnna watch it bt i dun no if itz gud r nt thx xoxox" would be a tad bit ... annoying.)

Accept my apologies for posting this if it's already been posted before, and just post a link to said topic and I'll be happy.
