There's easily a fair share of anime out there that have the females doing the beating. Fairy Tail is far from being the only one.

Kaijo, I think you're a swell guy and all, but I feel that you've been forcing these Fairy Tail comparisons with generic anime #1 and generic anime #2 and why Fairy Tail does storytelling aspect #4714 better than other series a little too hard.

Sure, Fairy Tail's a great series that does things well ( not all the time, but it's an enjoyable fun series ), but it's not exclusive or anything.

Cool, can you recommend another Fairy Tail anime for me, then? One that has both male and female heroes doing the defeating and being badass?

Yep. That one is mainly women being bad ass, though. I like a mix, so it doesn't appear as if it's only one sex that can do everything.

If you click my sig, you can go to anime-planet and see all the stuff that I've watched, and stuff I've dropped or marked as a "want to watch" because it seemed interesting.

How about Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood? I'll admit that the men do the ass-kicking more often than the women, but the women still get their share. And the story is much better, in my opinion, than the 2003 anime.

This isn't the thread for recommending titles. Please move the discussion to the suggestion section of the forum.

Darn it, the new OP is stuck in my head and I start singing it on daily basis. Didn't like it before but now it is growing on me.

Anyway, only one problem remains, Zero. If I didn't see it in intro I would think that people would double team against Zero but now I see that Natsu will bring him down. Probably some power up similar when he was fighting Jellal.

I really, really hope that producers don't stop at this and bring us the next arc.

Considering they got another 60 or so episodes this season, odds are really good we'll get the next arc at least, and probably some short stories. The question to be asked, is if it will continue and we get a third season?

We can only pray the ratings don't drop too much during Edoras and the fillers.

This isn't the proper thread to really discuss it, but I found it interesting. Not the best arc, but interesting. The arc after it, however, is very good, in my opinion. I also liked the phantom arc, earlier.

There's no confirmation that there's 'another 60 or so episodes'.

Season 1 was going to end with the 51 or 52 episodes it had, but it got renewed for a second season. The Nirvana arc is not going to take 50 episodes to air, and in fact looks like it will finish up in less than 5 episodes or so.

So, an educated guess would say there are at least going to be another 35-40 episodes.

Well, 40 and 60 have 50 in between, which is roughly the weeks of a year that get an anime episode out of studios...whatever, let's just wait and see.

That's pretty much how my reasoning went. If we got 50-ish in season 1, then season 2 would have 50-ish as well. 15 or so for Nirvana arc, 15-20 or so for Edolas arc (it seems quite a bit bigger), and then perhaps some of the short stories. The current manga arc should be done by the time the Edolas arc is finished airing, so they might just go onto that, too. Of course, that means the anime would probably have to take quite a break, then, in order to let the manga generate enough material for a 3rd season. Still, by the time Edolas is done, we should have plenty of material for a 3rd season.
