Interesting episode. Was is just me or Akane just became cooler.... I really thought Kougami is done for... Nice job Akane.. again.. That was cool.

I think it was about as bad. Poor art, in-between frames missing (as mentioned earlier, Gino teleported at some point, and it happened to Kogami's arm at least twice as well) , horrible lip-syncing and glaring mistakes (Kogami having his jacket in one shot and nothing in the other). I have no idea what the hell happened but I hope it won't happen again.

The only time I ever noticed bad animation it was in Magi episode 18.

But in all honesty you would have to be blind not to see it there x_x

I don't know perhaps because they didn't have a dance scene in this episode it didn't look that bad to me, the only thing I noticed was some off model faces (especially Masaoka seemed to suffer).

Well it was mainly a talking episode and they already confirmed it will be fixed for the home video release, so no big deal.

Akane is Mrs Passive-Aggressive. She suspects something, but she no doubt is already coming up with a plan to get hew own way.

Chaotic Evil people try to do bad things and find a way to get away with it.

Akane is trying to do the right thing and get away with it. That is much harder. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished. But Akane is going to try anyway. Dancing around regulations to get what she wanted.

It is obvious to them. Or, at the very least, it's obvious to them that the Chief isn't exactly on the up-and-up.

But what can they do about it? Lead a rebellion against Sibyl and promptly get themselves killed? There certainly doesn't appear to be any higher authority (above the Chief's head) that they could file a formal complaint to.

Akane has to wait for the right moment to make a move. Gino's position is even tougher, because as the veteran Inspector here, the Chief clearly has "her" eye on Gino. Akane at least has the advantage of almost being beyond the Chief's notice (well, that might change with this episode, admittedly).

Well, I'm not expecting to leap out and start accusations. That equals automatic death.

I expected them to at least be doing some work in the background to figure out details.

Not much action in this episode, just a lot of talking. Thanks to that, they had the golden opportunity to scale down the episode's quality. Despite all that, there weren't many new revelations within the episode itself. I could have sworn that some of the dialogue resembled some of the heated discussions in the past episode threads.

Aside from everything else, this episode pretty much confirms that Sybil values its pursuit for Makishima's brain much more than interests regarding human welfare, but I guess that's not really surprising for most of the people here. This just goes to show how utterly detached they are from the realm of human concerns. It's as fascinating as it is utterly horrifying.

Also, I've mentioned it before, but Akane's growth as a character has been quite impressive.

What's more fascinating is how detached Sybil is to their own safety. Considering that Makishima has information that could get them all killed, trying to pursue the benefit of integrating him is an incredibly risky proposition.

...especially since you're sending Section 1 after Makishima, when Makishima is carrying around a video recording of Kagari getting gunned down in cold blood by the Director to preserve the secret of what Sybil is.

Makishima escaped once again.
That chief cyborg is really getting on my nerves.
Kougami has become too much of threat for her.
She actually pushed Ginoza to kill Kougami, incredible.
He was lucky Akane stunned him to save him.

Surprised the Chief outright changed the the dominator in front of everyone like that. Gino may not have the detective instinct, but he better put 2 and 2 together and find out that the chief is real fishy. Though Akane was awesome as she shot Kogami in paralyzer mode. Interesting that Kogami had to use Makishima's tool to get out from under the Chief's nose.

Wow animation so bad. A throwaway episode, but I liked the scene at the elevator. Not sure whether Kougami chose the path of the dog or not. I think he did, and he's not even institutionalized now!
