Face it, Nana been had my attention for the obvious reasons. I was waiting for something like this. This episode and the next shows progress for why she became "the little witch".

As for Kakeru and company? Well, hopefully Kakeru will improve and be as good as his older bro Suguru. And the others will be there to support him.

All in all, I enjoyed this episode. 9/10.

The music and sound effects were ridiculous at times in episode 10, but overall I kinda liked it.

Seven's match wasn't as long as I would like it, but it was ok. My favorite moment was at the end of the episode, though, when Seven and Kakaru have their little chat.

I can see that Kakeru and Seven are always there for each other. I like that. They make a really cute couple.

It's the same in the manga though. Kakeru has a lot of talent but he's not a prodigy like Suguru or Seven so it takes more time for him to develop his skills.

I do wonder how they're going to end this series too, though. Do you know how many episode it's supposed to be?

I didn't like that either. In the manga there's a little more pass work, which makes things more interesting.

I've got the feeling they are mostly doing individual plays because teamwork requires more animation. You can't tell the budget for this anime is almost non-existent.

74 chapters. But if you're gonna read the manga, I think you should do it from the beginning, because the anime skipped almost 50% of the content (included a few important matches).

Spoiler for Episode 10-Little Witch:

It was nice to hear Nana do the opening narration instead of Kakeru. I suppose it underscores that this episode is more about her than Kakeru. Hopefully, we'll hear some more Seven doing the narration in the future.

I loved that moment where Kakeru played really physically against Seven, and she wound up falling on him. The Kakeru X Seven shipper in me was quite delighted. Then she mentioned that promise they made to Suguru and it felt like she wanted to tell him about her other life.

I also loved Seven pwning the other players in that practice match and completely dodging Kouta's aptly-named "Sexual Harassment Attack" Yes, she is quite a player. I guess Seven's fame is spreading as Kouta, Oda, Kaoru and Kakeru find out that she's playing for Nadeshiko Japan. Yes, Seven will have to deal with her fame as "the Little Witch".

And yes, Kouta, Seven is a much better player than you. I think even Kakeru knew that already before he found out about her. Groan at the idiot broadcaster guy. LOL at Kouta being a fan of Mina and not knowing she plays soccer. Too bad that Seven and Mina are both way out of his league(and Seven likes Kakeru anyway).

Loved her feint against Mina. Yes, quite a beautiful play. Wow at final score, 5-5. That's a baseball score and quite high scoring for soccer. Too bad they didn't animate more.

Very nice scene at the end with Kakeru and Seven talking. He may have a way to go to be the kind of player his brother was, but I don't mind seeing the journey Kakeru is making because I want him to be wearing that blue jersey someday too. And of course, more romance between Kakeru and Seven.

Looks like next episode is a chance for Kakeru to take the spotlight again. Hopefully he can solve the "divide" in the team once and for all.

I am liking the equal spotlight on Kakeru and Seven. I want to see both playing some great soccer and getting to their dreams. It will be really interesting once Kakeru starts playing in some real matches too. And I also wonder how many episodes this series is going to have. It looks like it will be at least 2 cours, but I wonder if it will be 4 or 5 cours like Cross Game.

Thanks, i was alway planning to start from the beginning, but i didn't know they skipped that much, now i want to read it even more

They picked one part in ch74 but the timeline should still be somewhere at vol 3-4 (which obviously doesn't contain chapter 70++ in it).

It's just a practice match. I do want to see a lot more of Seven though. I find her as a more interesting character she's so beautiful.

So the they still can't get everyone to get along. Araki really has to lose weight. Like how they focused on a player from the other side. So big news about Silver.

Spoiler for Episode 11-The Division of the Soccer Club:

Man, that Araki and his stockpile of choco cornets. We know from Lucky Star that there are various ways to eat a chocolate cornet, which looks delicious. Good thing Seven managed to confiscate his bag of choco cornets. And liked the yellow card and Seven making him faceplant. And the dude needs to learn to show up on time to practice.

Araki's attitude and Iwaki's laid-back style offends most of the former SC players, and so they walk. Kakeru and Seven try to talk to one of them at their house, but the guy stubbornly refuses to rejoin as long as Iwaki is coaching. At least that's one way of weaning down a team.

There is also the unwelcome return of the creepy, crappy excuse for a counselor who gives Kakeru a clean bill of health and shows him a magazine talking about various high school soccer players. I'm sure we will be seeing all of the ones that are mentioned, but he also sees that Leonardo Silva is playing for a high school in Japan. And I am sure that has something to do with Suguru or Kakeru despite what Kakeru says.

This episode though is focused on Takase(given name is Michiru?) and Kakeru, Seven and Kaoru wind up finding out about Takase's circumstances, and how he gave up his first love of basketball for soccer because the potential to make a lot of money overseas as a soccer player(although if he wound up in America, basketball pays a lot more than soccer). They also find out that he works after practice and there was a nice scene near the end where Kakeru discovers that Takase practices alone in the park, and so Kakeru, Kaoru and Seven wind up joining up for a mini-practice.

Next episode looks like it might resolve the growing conflict between the two factions of the Soccer Club. I wonder what Iwaki has up his sleeve.

It's nice to see some development of Kakeru's teammates and hopefully we see more Kakeru growth(and some more Seven action too). Nice episode all and all. 7/10.

Wish he would stop stuffing his face already!!
Not only that, but his attitude sucks too..
Story about Takase was nice.

So Iwaki actually isn't soft at all. At least Araki is realizes little by little that he needs to lose weight Glad the others came back. To bad Kakeru isn't a regular, but at least he made the team. Tournament begins next week!

Manga readers, how far has it been adapted so far?

Spoiler for Episode 12-Enoshima Soccer Club Reborn!:

Looks like the choice for the captaincy was fairly easy. Yeah, Araki, you're not captain material yet. Kakeru missing out on the meeting was understandable since he was running an errand for the coach, but I still would have liked for him to be there.

Kondo showing a few of the former SC players just what Iwaki was doing when he wasn't coaching was a nice touch. I figured there had to be a reason why he fell asleep on the train like that in the last episode, and I thought it wouldn't be because he was laid back.

Then comes the day of the practice match. A few of the team members think they're getting a weak opponent, but Seven whispers to Kakeru that something doesn't feel right about the timing of this match. They were told that their opponent was friends with Iwaki. Kondo and 4 or 5 of the former SC players also watch the match. At first, their opponent seems like someone that they can handle easily, and Enoshima scores two goals. Then their opponent gets serious, and Enoshima has a difficult time with them. Then Kaoru remembers where he saw one of the players before. Their opponent is a college soccer team, and not only that, they were the runner-up in the intercollegiate championship. Yeah, their opponent is impressive.

We also learn why Iwaki is letting Araki play in the condition he's in, and we see that he is stricter than he seems. Yeah, putting Araki through all that stress on his body to overcome his cardiovascular weakness is going to be tough on Araki. At least nobody is going to say he's soft now.

Enoshima manages to put up a good fight, and Kakeru makes a nice header into the goal. The game ends in a draw, and I don't see that as any loss for Enoshima High. Kakeru seems to be gaining confidence too although he does backpedal a little.

Yeah, they just had to build the tension as Kakeru was the last name announced as having a spot on the team. Although he's going to be on the bench. He has a lot of potential as a striker though so I don't think that will last for too long.

Next episode, they play another high school in a qualifier. Looks to be good.

The first 12 episodes were there to show Kakeru's journey on a team, and that team to come together. I guess that might mark the end of the first cour, and with the next episode and the start of the inter-high school games, that could mark the start of the next cour. I'm hoping this can go into the Summer.

They're rearranging the chronological order of events but let me see. They went up to chapter 74 with Seven's second match with Nadeshiko, but skipped a lost of previous chapters. Now, in episode 11 they jumped back to chapter 44, and episode 12 is a freaky mix of chapter 41 and 42 plus some elements from chapter 55.

As you can see, it's kind of a mess.
