Do uchigane have legs? D: all the pictures I saw were "iron maiden skirts", those are definitely being left out, along with the floating shoulder armor.

They did, their legs are TAD less bulky than most I.S. has, and obstructed by the skirt. Most I.S. has bulky legs due to rocket propulsion as well as armor to protect them, Uchigane apparently lacks one.

I'll upload one, be patient.

EDIT: I seriously find it weird that the first few pictures I see in google image search when I do "uchigane" search is our avatar pics...

I planned originally for Kyuukai to lose all his memories a while after getting his head bashed into a wall by Adam's father wielding an exosuit (not as powerful as IS, but just auguments his physical abilities, effectively making him a badass old man), right before Adam manages to maim the old man.

But one dark idea still lingers in my head, and it's probably too heartwreakingly dark that it won't work in the tone of my story.

Spoiler for Koneko's Fate: DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS:

Yeah, I got weird and dark there.

It probably won't happen, but it's a possibility.

Anyway, Kyuukai will probably end up teaching Health.

And giving "the talk" to an alarming amount of people including Canan, Irish, Koneko and Ichika.

Nah, those legs has high heels, they're mostly just there to cover the leg...

Just modify it with special land-based propulsion system and stuff (Schwazer has heel-mounted wheels, Ichika has small skates etc)

A LOT happens, take my word for it. Characterizations develop quite a bit in such time. Kyuukai changes SO MUCH, that you can barely tell the similarities between present and future in later chapters.

Even if they can run, seeing how tall and bulky the IS legs are kinda makes me wonder how they could run properly without at least tripping once every few meters or so.

As for the reason to run, it could be stuffs like a condition for a race, tomfoolery, or just about times where the pilot may forget that the IS has a thruster unit.

@ Box & Stratos some I.S. clearly has mobility units added to their feet in the anime, hell, the Manga design is so fucked up I wonder how they can even STAND on those....pointy ballet feet.

EDIT: Not sure about LN design though, the I.S.es looks super deformed.

Seems as though most of the designs are made such that they can only stand or hold a stance. Other movements are completely booster-reliant... which makes me wonder if one day Tabane decides to shutdown the thruster systems on all IS units...

Koneko Illustria Tokiwa is a gynoid, and due to Kyuukai's paranoia, he outfits her with simple weapons, such as a sword and a high caliber gun. Shortly before the final battle, Adam's father, Solomon, tries to assassinate key members of the enemy force. And to do so, he hacks into the mainframe of ISA, and attacks Koneko as she sleeps. Koneko wakes up, aware of the whole thing. Her body begins to move, but she's not controlling it. And she can only watch as her hand summons her sword, and she attempts to kill her father in his sleep. Kyuukai's awake before the sword stabs in, and can only watch in horror as Koneko tries to kill him. He manages to restrain her, after restraining himself from harming her. She doesn't know what's going on, and all she can do is cry for her father as her body tries to kill him. The ISA group converges, wondering what they should do. Tabane's already set to cracking Solomon's hold on him, but it doesn't seem to be working, much to their alarm. Solomon, knowing he can't do anything in this state, resorts to more drastic measures. Specifically by cutting off Koneko's left leg. She screams, Kyuukai trying to calm her, register anesthetic programs into her brain. But it doesn't work. She's scared, crying, watching her own body kill itself as Solomon tries his best to injure ISA where it hurts: inside. Finally, Kyuukai can't take the strain. He restrains his daughter one last time, watching her struggle against the bonds as she talks to him. 5 days. 5 days Kyuukai suffers. And finally, he's had enough. He won't let his daughter suffer any longer. And so, he cut off all feeling to Koneko's limbs. He murmured comforting words, urging her not to cry, urging her not to worry as tears and worry rip him apart. And so, he pulls a wire, and connects it to Koneko's brain. No matter what he does, it won't help. Koneko's lost to Solomon. She'll just keep trying to kill him, kill other people. And he knew if he had to watch this much longer, he'd let her succeed. Reset her? She wouldn't be Koneko anymore. A soulless robotic husk of his daughter. Purge the control? Would just do the same as resetting her, maybe worse as the virus rips into her mind as it tries to maintain a grip. He loaded a program to Koneko's brain. He held onto a switch, talking to his daughter for the last time. He told her he loved her, told her he'd do anything for her. And she said the same to him. Kyuukai Tokiwa flipped the switch. His daughter lurched, her eyes going blank. And Koneko Illustria Tokiwa was gone forever. And Solomon Byrne Rayleigh was going to die. ~~~ After Aria was born, Kyuukai and Laura aimed for another child. After months of waiting, he arrived at the hospital, waiting earnestly for the birth of his second child. When he entered the room, his wife held a beautiful baby. A girl. Laura asked him to name her. He smiled fondly. "*Koneko Illustria Tokiwa."* Yeah, I got weird and dark there. It probably won't happen, but it's a possibility.
