I have just ended to read the volume 10-final part.

I want to ask you if there are notices or something about the next volume (Autor's words, dates, something...) T.T

without any spoilers, I'm trying to read the series in the most appropriate way possible, so when would be the perfect time to read Rainy Day? I was thinking maybe before the epilogue of The Surprise?

I read book 1 and 2, and I was thinking of skipping the next two to read the fifth book. Should I skip them? Would I miss any important detail that was not in the anime?

The anime follows the books almost exactly. The only slight differences that I can think of is that Kyons sister didnt go to the remote island in the novels, and Haruhi never played guitar in Live Alive.

Because of bureaucracy on this forum i am unable to give a link to a website within this body of text in which will be able to answer this question in great detail. However, In a nutshell if you are wanting to start from where the anime left off, don't buy The Melancholy, The Boredom, The Sigh or The Disappearance.

The reading order is all over the place. I would recommend reading short stories and full novels in the following order:

01) The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (April-May 2003)
02) The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya (Early June)
03) Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody (July 7th)
04) Mysterique Sign (July)
05) Remote Island Syndrome (Late July)
06) Endless Eight (August 17-31)
07) The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya (Mid-November)
08) The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00 (Mid-November)
09) Live Alive (Late November)
10) The Day Of Sagittarius (Late November)
11) Someday In The Rain (Early or Mid December)
12) The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (December 16th to 24th)

Not adapted into the anime-
13) Love at First Sight (26th December)
14) Snowy Mountain Syndrome (30th December)
15) Where Did The Cat Go? (31st December)
16) The Intrigues of Haruhi Suzumiya- Prologue (part 1) (January 2nd 2004)
17) Random Numbers (3rd January)
18) The Melancholy of Mikuru Asahina (mid-late January)
19) The Intrigues of Haruhi Suzumiya- Prologue (part 2) (Tuesday 3rd February)
20) The Intrigues of Haruhi Suzumiya (early February)
21) Editor in Chief, Full Speed Ahead! (late February)
22) Wandering Shadow (early March)
23) The Dissociation of Haruhi Suzumiya (April)
24) The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya (April)
25) The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya- Epilogue (May)
26) Rainy Day (September 2002)

Which book do I have to buy to read the first story?

Volume 6, though Snowy Mountain Syndrome is in volume 5. Look in this thread for more information: All About Haruhi Suzumiya (涼宮ハルヒ) - 2012 Edition

I wouldnt skip it. There is no huge plot twists in the novels that arent in the series but of course the novels go a lot more into details that you cant get in the anime.

Plus I found the Disappearance really engaging and fun to read, finished it in 1 sitting. Then again, I read it before the movie came out.

It's a novel entitled "There's no Haruhi in my classroom" focusing on a male student who sits in the same spot as Kyon, but there's no Haruhi behind him. He may be a fan of the series, but it has no actual bearing on the Haruhi universe; it's just something cashing in on the franchise at the moment, though given approval by Tanigawa.

Does it share any characters from the Haruhi universe?

Cause otherwise, I'm not sure why it even bears mentioning as being haruhi related.

Not to my knowledge thus far. Your second point is why I get annoyed when people see the cover and want to bring it up in Haruhi discussions when they don't know the contents of the novel.

It's out on the first in the S. WHITE Anthology. The Sneaker editors have made the anthology themed around "first loves" and have yet to mention Haruhi in promotion. I doubt it'll be part of the franchise.

Nothing worthwhile to talk about outside of 2ch blogs trying to get hits which confused the poor western fans.

This is somewhat expected, but I asked Udon if they have plans to bring Haruhi Hyakka licenced in english. They replied this:

Quote:
Hi, thanks for emailing!

The Haruhi Hayakka Artbook looks super cool! If the fans support our first three Haruhi Art Book releases, we will definitely consider this newest one!

Best,

Chris, UDON
