There is a large bunch of pics from the town I live in available through "Tour de Vaasa", but here is a few of the best:
A picture taken during a festival. Those guys play pretty good and performed through the summer. A small path near the coast of Vaasa, the scenery route. A shopping street in the centre of Vaasa. Wish it was summer again. That would be my university, where I'm about to graduate soon. Shining cars and stuff. |

Yesterday was interesting. The area around my place was so foggy in the morning and it was almost 9:30 am at the time. Visibility was rather low, as you can see from the photos below.
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
Spoiler for Before and during the fog...:
The fog got better the nearer I went down in altitude. The place I'm staying is quite hilly. The fog might've been caused by the lake nearby. It was a cool experience though. It's as if I was driving among the clouds. Now then, here are some (large) high-res photos I promised before (linked since they are large in size): Nice formation of rocks (actually an art piece) at a botanical garden: http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/1263/piwa0616qp9.jpg If you've read another thread, you'll probably recognize this one : http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/8107/piwa0635gp6.jpg Spoiler for what it is:
Helicopter next to the lake! http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/3...mmdrv20nu5.jpg Great view taken in Paradise! : http://img282.imageshack.us/img282/5269/piwa0648me6.jpg Deer in Paradise: http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/740/piwa0644ze1.jpg Spoiler for Proof I was in Paradise:
Last but not least, yet another lake: http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/1793/piwa0639cf0.jpg Enjoy! |

Well, I'm impressed - the thread's still going. Good call Esperchld, wherever you may be these days. Good to see stuff still rolling in and some familiar faces still posting.
Going back a few : Good shots there lwl12! I see some familiar places . Your 'Paradise' shot has some nice background framed photos itself Sedukshun - boredom clearly was the order of day , but that's good - absolutely nothing wrong with random snapping IMO. I think StoneColdCrazy's comment waaaaay back is appropriate -> ....After all, "Life is just a series of moments." Kayos - That smiley sums up my feelings for the first couple of pictures. Yes, I love the snow - but if we see even one flake of the stuff fall from the sky here this winter, two things will happen : 1) I will proclaim a miracle has occured (and Kaori (Kanon) will probably chastise me thus : "Ethernez-kun, Miracles don't happen that easily...." 2) The country will grind to a halt, the populace will clear the shelves of all shops of perishables and the entire transport industry will come up with infinite variations on - "The 16:30 from xxxx is cancelled, the 16:50 from xxx is cancelled ... repeat ad infinium..". The end of the world basically Personally I think the tropics would handle snow better than the UK does..... Anyway, here's some counter pics for the cold from a recent trip to Sardinia (Sardegne) : Spoilered for post clarity A shot across the Gulf of Asinara, Sardinia - exceptionally clear water. Underwater shots would be fantastic here if I had the equipment! Spoiler for To protect your eyes from the blinding blue!:
A typical Italian style street.... I kept having CounterStrike flashbacks Corsica (the island directly to the north of Sardinia) can be clearly seen in this quite effective shot. If not for the mountainous terrain of Corsica itself you would never know it was there... And the day ends.... A nice halo and flare in the first, followed by a gorgeous sunset. Of course, all good things come to an end - and here I am standing on the wing of a Ryanair 737-800, enjoying the cooling -30c breeze as we descend down to Blighty and Stansted. Ironically, home was the only sunny place that day... Jaa. EDIT : ???? Renlogger still works? o_O..... talk about crawling out from the worm works! it 'aint 14c outside though, that's for sure =p Last edited by EtherNEZ; 2006-12-17 at 08:06. @ EtherNEZ
It's middle winter here now, so I would just love to leave to Corsica right now. Looks like a nice, warm place to be during the dark, cold winters. Or perhaps around the year. Does Corsica happen to be part of EU (for easy immigration)? |

@suwayya : , what was v1.0?
@wordplay - While I wish for some snow, I wouldn't like what you get up North for the entire winter! Just to correct a slight misunderstanding (probably my fault) - the above photos are all in Sardinia which is south of Corsica in the Mediterenean, west of Italy. Corsica is a French island so no problem there... |

Indeed! (to the smiley) - so here are some more.
I'm not quite sure what the National Trust had in mind for us walkers when they placed this signpost..... Dear, I told you to check your bag for bugs *before* we left! Anyone up for the 'Stepping Stone' Challenge? Winners get the ferry home, losers get ... well, to chill out.... And last but not least : Actually, the losers might have something else to deal with.... OK, enough fun. Nice seasonal Cold shots next time. |

I'm going to revive this thread, it's been a while. I have only my cellphone camera, while not the best quality is a huge improvement over my old webcam, so here I come with sunsets again ^^.
I love sunsets, this one with a bloddy red sun in particular, its a shame the photo never quites capture the color of the sun. |

I'm taking a photography class this semester, so I'm learning how to make make pictures look even better. Here's some pictures I took today on a class field trip:

I know no one has posted here in months but I recently went to the beach at Lake Erie and just had to share a couple of pics:
The waves were very high that day; they're normally in the 1-2 foot range. I spent some time in the water trying not to drown but spent almost 2 hours sitting on the beach edge letting the waves wash over my feet. It was very peaceful.
