Your wrong pyu

Spoiler for manga excerpts, dont read unless you really want to know:

So as you see, chiaki does plan on going to vienna to study, not to work. Though his family seem to be as warped as nodame's in a way, and are planning other things lol

Since the manga is up to vol 18 now there's easily enough material to make a second season, season 1 only covers the first 9 vols (sorry, my previouse comments said it was 12, got a bit muddled lol reading to much manga these days)

im not really going by the manga im just thinking how u would end. If i were the writer of the anime it would be perfect to have it end them going to togather to europe. If i was wrong than they would follow the manga in the end of the season and have another season next year

Actually the end of vol 9 is perfect, since it closes everything. It's made obviosue where everyone is going and why, all the important questions have been answered aswell. While it closes everything it also leaves the way for a second season without straining things to much.

All of that said, Nodame's mom is HOT!!! she's 10x as insane as nodame, but i wouldnt mind :P poor chiaki lol he dosent stand a chance against that family lmao

I know what your trying to get at but with my experince with manga > anime they usually change the ending of anime different than the manga. I agree that it would explain alot more the reason why they are going for Europe for if they add Nodame visiting her family with Chiaki

But one thing i dont agree though is Nodame mom just okie looking i still think Nodame is alot cuter than her mom.

wondering though what chapter are u reading now for this manga im like in chapter 55 atm

i doubt that they'll change the ending, they've kept everything else pretty faithful. Nodame is actually one of the most faithful conversions ive ever come across.

I jhust finished vol 9. Got upto vol 15, but since i cant read japanese its not easy lol and sionce its licensed no one is scanlating it

I think it's Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor, op. 33 by Saint-Saens.

Ok. I got the live action and manga mixed up. Gomen.

But yeah, Chiaki's mom is equally warped.

It might be quite difficult for second season since all the scenes are in Europe and all the new characters are foreigner.
All of these things might be difficult for filming. I really hope they do second season.

nah wont be that difficult, there are lots of anime's that have european or american parts, that have been done really well.

E.g., Monster

Still I think it's an interesting question whether the European setting might make the series less appealing to Japanese viewers and thus a more dubious investment for J.C. Staff.

On another note, I've been rewatching the initial episodes of this series again. It's rather jarring to see the amount of slapstick in these episodes in comparison to the last half-dozen or so. If you read my early postings in this thread, you'll see I was rather put off by the violence depicted. All that stuff seems to have generally been put aside in the latter half in favor of more music and more drama. I wonder if this was a conscious strategy on the part of the mangaka and/or the anime producers. Perhaps they thought that they needed the slapstick to get people hooked on the show?

i dont think so, its more a case of the characters developing to a point where its not needed. The bond between Nodame and Chiaki has gotten to the point where they pretty much know what the other is thinking these days. The slapstick and stuff is still there, its just not as blatant. Just look at the events that will be coming through the final few ep, they'll be full of dlap stick if they follow the manga

That would make sense if we were talking about a movie or live series, but this is anime, I don't quite think there would be any "filming" issues, right?

No, but it wouldn't be worth introducing new characters that require new VA's. Especially if they star in the second season which may be a ways down the line, cuz then they'd have more VA's to re-sign which would be a hassle. I've only read the manga up to the point where Chiaki meets the family, etc., and that looks like a fine point to end season 1. There's the emotional pay off, and it's clear what's going to be happening next.

signing VA's wouldnt really be a hassel i think. Most of the orchestra is headed over to various parts of europe anyways, so they could easily keep some characters. I've seen VA's doing 2 and 3 voices in a show, so it could be done. You'r also forgetting how popular nodame is. Currently it has 28 albums of music, as far as i know only Macross 7 has ever had that amount (M7 had 35 albums).

Nodame is apparently one of the most popular shows in japan, they'd be totaly idiots to just drop it after 1 season

Ep 22 out...

http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2007...-cantabile-22/

The next 2 chapters of the manga are covered, except they bring in a few critical scenes on Nodame's childhood in early.

I really wonder how they are going to finish things off next week... Are they going to try to cram 90 odd pages of manga into the last episode? They could really do with another ep if you ask me... (This is not a criticism btw... just an observation. Maybe they'll make it clear there'll be a follow-up season...?)

Can we really be sure that episode 23 is the last? I highly suspect there will
be an episode 24, most of the anime series that wrap up in a first season run
are either 12, 16 or 24 episodes. 23 would really be pushing it I suspect.

And yes, Episode 22 is a stunner. Fantastic but I'm not saying A WORD.
