Fujiwara is maybe Lady Fujitsubo of the Tale of Genji:

Is nobody else impressed that Terumi was able to repeatedly approach other girls on the beach? even if he only did it because Kaoruko told him too, and was turned down every time, it still takes some guts to pull that off. He definitely wouldn't have been able to do that at the beginning of the story
