Tsukimonogatari (part of Final Season) Discussion

Done watching Tsukimonogatari! I like Yotsugi a lot, especially when delivering her deadpan speech all while ending it with a "Yeah!" sometimes.

On the other hand, Studio SHAFT sure upped the ante when it comes to deranged animation. Now the chapter and episode titles looked very elaborate compared to previous seasons.

To be fair to the book, this is the start of the final Act. So the OVAs essentially laid down the groundworks for the future. I understand that it makes this story appear nonsensical as there appear to be irrelevant details that were elaborate on for no clear purpose, but it hopefully will make more sense in context later.

Much like how Hanekawa's presence at the start of Bakemonogatari appear perplexing, and that only after two full arcs do we truly understand why she does what she does.

It's not nonsensical. It's clear it's foreshadowing tons of things for future plotlines. It just isn't very interesting on its own, even as a prologue. The lack of self-contained story unlike the previous ones probably hurts a bit too. I had gotten used to that, so I wasn't really ready for this.

is it just me or there are more and more characters appeared from no where who can kill prime Kiss-shot Shinobu who was suppose to be the most powerful entity that can destroy the whole world?

It's all fun and jiggles until something bad enough to make Kissshot return to her original form happens to Koyomi. Then it's a one-sided slaughter with her destroying everything/turning everyone into a mindless vampire as seen in Kabuki, since not even three (I guess it's four including him?) vampire-hunting specialists at once could take her down and had to trick her to make her harmless (see Kizumonogatari).

At least Kagenui and Ononoki surely don't stand a chance in hell against prime Kissshot.

Quote liked it. I'd put it about mid-tier. For one, I like the idea of Araragi's action catching up to him. There's an actual overarching plot gorwing here, and it's intriguing. It took a while but I warmed up to Yotsugi.

As short as Ougi's appearance's usually are, I always like them.

I can see where you are coming from. I don't like this season as well at this point. I know it may have to take some time to get everything but my best advice to you without spoiling is that you better braced yourself and get used to it quickly. This whole season is more like an overreaching mystery arc than stand alone ones we had previously but once all said and done somehow manages to answer all the remaining questions and fill in most if not all the plotholes. Yeah it sounds a bit hard to believe at this point.

It seems the only reason that Araragi hasn't done anything to his sisters, was because there are two of them.... and one will step in when the other going too far. At least he will move out for college

Question: Was Tadatsuru eliminated because he already knows about a greater puppeteer that's pulling the strings? All his talk about roles and casting solidly point to that.
