As someone astutely pointed out during last year's saimoe, Azusa is really more of a (tsukkomi>boke) character than a (tsun>dere) character.

She is neither of those. It also doesn't really matter what type she is. The thing I wanted to point out is that it's silly to hate on characters based on their VA alone and even more silly if you aren't consequent with it. It's totally fine to dislike a VA like Kugimiya Rie but that doesn't make the character she voices bad. Unfortunately 0r doesn't seem to realize that simple fact but it's ok, he still has time to grow up and stop his low-level trolling.

Yuuki really annoyed me in the anime. She didn't do so in the manga. It seems I am very alone in this line of thought.

no, its unacceptable if that's your only basis for both of those things, the VA contributes to the character but they definitely don't define the characters. The reason a lot of rie voiced characters are similar is because she is typecast into those roles, not because her voice magically makes a loli tsundere.

Just like not every tall dark and bishoujo character voiced by Hikasa Youko is the same, or not every kuudere is the same just because they barely talk...most definitely all of Kugimiya's tsundere roles aren't really the same. Traits are common throughout, but circumstances are very different.

The problem comes when you begin to have biases and refuse to look at a character beyond the surface. While it is true Kugimiya is typecasted a lot (because she's very good at it), there's still always more to look for here.

I'm not a fan of basing decisions on the names of voice actors (rather than their performance), but moralfagging about it is pointless. It's "acceptable" to like or dislike any character for whatever reason. It's not as though you can consciously flip a switch in your brain to change your own value perceptions.

You are incorrect. Yuuki is one of the two best roles of Kugimiya (excluding Happy) and she is at least 30% why I like Saki so much.

EDIT: This is not about Kugyuu, but about Yuuki.

Speaking of best roles by Kugyuu, Touka is my favorite Minorin role, period. I can't wait to vote for Saki characters this y-- oh wait.
