The Top 100 Songs of the Decade [2000-2009] (100-11) I just realized while making the list that the best anime songs are all in the 90's. (try Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis, Tank! or Yuzurenai Negai). You can say the 90's was the golden age of Anime songs but the last decade (whatever it's called) was pretty interesting too. With the advent of the internet (particularly youtube), iPod and blogs/forums such as animesuki, people have easy access and reference to a dizzying amount of anime songs, particularly the recent ones. Great songs from Haruhi, Gundam, Macross, Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach and many more made the last decade as awesome as the one that precedes it.  janfive, what's the criteria used to determine which songs make it to the list? I tried searching through the thread, but after 20 minutes, no luck. If it's buried in this thread somewhere where I missed it, could you attach it to the OP? I ask partly because I'd be embarrassed to be found listening to the majority of these songs in your list. The taste in music seems very odd, but there are a lot of songs that others suggested that sound really good--they're better than the songs ranked highly, but most are no where to be seen on the massive list. I found this thread by googling "best anime songs" and also came upon a few other sites, JapanProbe and Japanator/2chan, and jumped to the conclusion that you probably are going by Japanese tastes rather than "English speaking world" tastes. That or you are going by numbers (of times people have listened to them or number of people who know of the song), which explains why a bunch of really old songs made it. Indeed, the list is massive (and I'm nowhere near the halfway mark), the songs are so diverse that not all will suit to everybody's taste. Ah finally, google noticed this thread. Yes, I'm using the 2ch list as a main reference. Actually, all my references originated in Japan (listed in my first post on the criterias).
