Don't see any thread here discussing the games, imo .hack story was awesome, anime was slow but still really good in terms of character development.

Now with G.U. the story faster and better than ever imo, i can really say i like these 2 games (probably the third one too) better than ff12...and this is coming from a huge FF fan.

I played through both... It's a shame the games are so short, though for me Volume 2 was kinda a repeat of Volume 1, with the tournament and all being the main focus for most of the game. The end was good... makes me wish they'd release Vol.3 quickly, but I know it won't happen.

ya the games are short, but the story is truly amazing~

vol.3 is rumored to be release in Oct....i highly doubt it tho since vol1 and 2 was released one year apart

havent all the .hack games have just been repeats with some slight different battles ?

just roam around in dungeons and such

I wanna play the games for these. But yeah, problem I had with the previous .hack games were that they were quite the dungeon crawlers. I hope G.U. isn't exactly like that. Although if the games are short I guess it would be okay (I don't mind crawling through dungeons for a while... just not the entire game if it's a long one).

The dungeons for the G.U. games are a lot shorter from what I've seen (though I have yet to play volume 2, this may have change, though I doubt it), and more emphasis is placed on combat, so the game goes by a lot quicker. Until I get to play all 3 games though, I can't say for sure whether I prefer the original .hack's story or G.U.'s. Again, I haven't played volume 2 yet, but I already want volume 3 to get here simply so that I can use Xth form and the new Skeith.

i'm almost done vol. 2

dugeons are A LOT quicker in GU than in the original 4, the games r pretty short in terms of RPG standard, cant wait for vol.3

Volume 3 is apparently supposed to be released in the fall. Let's hope that's the case - I'll settle for the Christmas season if I must. But I want to play with the oh-so-happy Xth form as soon as possible.

Volume 2 was pretty good, with a few major upsets and people joining your party that... really don't make sense, but still managed to improve over the first, especially with the instant weapon change ability you get with 3rd form (and scythes rock). Plus, all kinds of plot twists and avatar battles; though it's probably not a real spoiler if I say what it is, I'll go ahead and stay on the safe side and say that one of the new avatar battles is a complete pain in the ass. For those who have yet to play the game but plan to, you'll know exactly who it is when you get to it. >.<

Oh, and the Doppleganger this time around drops truly beautiful weapons.

Cause when I played this game and in every movie it always hang.... So I must skipped...
Is it just me or everyone has the same problem?
