I am also fine with a series that focuses on friendship over romance. There are so many romance stories out there, friendship based stories do feel like a novelty in a way.

I agree. I hope they don't take it out.

disappointed that girls are floating around in the ship but no pantsu were shown... joking

this show surely is taking its time in developing the story and characters, which i like it so far, also enjoy Chiaki and Marika interaction, btw those hand-held beam guns look a bit too powerful

Not as powerful as Unicorn Gundam Beam Magnum :P or what came before and after it. People need to stop thinking that Japanese Sci-fi is the same as Western Sci-fi
It's a shame that the anime skipped the explanation part for Ririka's Class 4 Beam Gun, and why they need to wear the shooting glass that is as rigid as in-universe spaceship window.

Well, that depends on whether they keep the Lynn/Jenny stuff in the anime. Erica (from Okazu) probably read the novel, hence her comment.

ANNCast 103 - Mission Critical

I just listened to the podcasters how they reviewed Bodacious Space Pirates and think it's the best Winter 2012 show and find the people complaining of the lack of action and fanservice in the anime absurd.

LOL

Dieing of laughter while reading the comment thread and the thread for Mouretsu Pirates on ANN. Some peeps really got their panties all twisted up over the fact that show isn't realistically depicting mini-skirts in zero-g.

Now that is so lame, comedy gold in its right, I wish they just get over it and enjoy the show, rather than going after each others' throats. I'm happy with the way Moretsu is set up: not too much, not too little, but just right.

Glad I'm spending good time here at AS.

Komatsu Mikako (Katou Marika) single "Black Holy" on sale April 11th

Hmm, they cut too much ..again. They should have made 100 % adaptation so that more people will drop this :P

Mobirates 03 - 派手にキター!!

The battle of the antivirus lasted a lot shorter than I thought it would, but it did serve as an interesting hint of things to come. For the second half of the episode, the problems continued to be mostly mundane... but I did like the scenery during the spacewalk, and the customized spacesuits. Looks like there was a bit of something going on in the locker room, even if the camera, only briefly, focused its eyes on it. Actual spacesuits like the ones in this episode are in development, I've heard. Perhaps next week will be the start of some actual pirateering?

Liked the girls spacesuits. The space walk was interesting. Like how Marika was in charge of the operation after giving her suggestion on how to fix it. Looks like the fun starts next ep.

Hmm, there wasn't really much to say about the first half of the episode. We saw Marika and her class go through the exams but that was really it that I can talk about for the first half.

I laughed when Kane just turned the volume down on the communicator on his wrist and said "I have to take half a dozen of these outside?" when he heard the girls messing about in the changing rooms XD I was surprised he wasn't called a pervert or anything

Second half the the episode was interesting to watch. We got to see how they prepared themselves when it came to entering space in a spaceship and a spacesuit.

Watching the episode felt like playing the training level of a videogame, nevertheless I continue to really like what I'm watching.Love how the solar panels are the "sails" of the ship.

Things are pretty quiet now but for some reason I get the feeling that later on I'll be going "remember the times when setting out sails was a big deal?"

I wonder why they let Chiaki-chan wear her old school uniform? From an in-universe perspective, I mean; as opposed to the producers wanting to give her a different look.
