I rather like the art in Higepiyo.... if only they could draw the rest of the background properly too!!

and yes, it's hilarious. The reactions of the family to Higepiyo... hahahaha. Five minutes. Not too bad at all.

Watched this a few days back and its funny . Dont know if it will be a classic rib tickling comedy like Sexy Commando or Ebichu, only time will tell . Hige Piyo reminded me of a GAR version of Ebichu .Out of the two comedy shows subbed Charady's Daily Joke and Hige Piyo, the latter is a funnier and better show IMO .

NOT a manga reader but here is a speculation : In the news they mention a research laboratory , think Hige Piyo an experimental chick from that lab .
( 4.46 onwards)

yeah, it probably IS a chick from the lab.

Ep 2 is even more hilarious. Some of the jokes... they aren't that surprising, but they're extra funny in how the lines are said as a result of the interaction with a uh, chick.

If you draw a 'hige' to the bully he looks like a human version of Higepiyo. A nice entertaining episode, it was fun to see Higepiyo as a hero/protector

I love this anime already, and the seiyuu choice makes it even better. We've got Paku Romi as Higepiyo, Miyashita Eiji as Papa, Arai Satomi as Mama, and obviously, Kobayashi Yuu as Hiroshi. Instant win, y/y?

With the role of Higepiyo, we can call Paku the queen bee/ numero uno of seiyus IMHO. I been hearing Romi ever since I was watching anime, but was pleasantly shocked to know she did Hige. Yep as posters already said the seiyu chosen is top notch for this show .

I equate this approximately to a roomful of great seiyuu getting drunk and riffing in the studio for a couple of hours... It might not make much sense but you're glad the mikes were turned on.
