Finally got around to reading the 6th volume this weekend.
Missing the regular platoon, but for the most part it was good.
Didn't like the ending though, after all that Unicorn had done, they got away with slap on the wrist.
Yes, it was nice they saved the little princess, but personally, i don't think it really justifies everything else they did.

I just finish read the 1st chapter of vol3 this just crack me up.

The plastic explosive was definitely set up there. The name of the explosive used was Hand Axe. A gram of it was more valuable than a gram of platinum, and it was developed by the Legitimacy Kingdom military. Naturally, the Information Alliance had no way of manufacturing it.

What looked like a detonator was actually a decoration created from the cords meant for a wired detonation and the LCD screen taken from a pen-shaped wireless fuse.

Finally, Quenser spoke into the radio once more.

LOL, but it was clever trick that enble Quenser to capture not only a near perfect 2nd gen OBJECT but the heart of the enemy elite as well.

They were punished, yes, but the things they did, compared to the punishment received, means it was basically a slap in the wrist.

Of course, they did it to save a member of royalty, so in a monarchy where the monarch still holds real power, that would count for a lot, but i don't really count a monarch any higher in value than a random beggar on the street, unless there is an actual utilitarian reason why the monarch is needed more than the beggar.

And the princess was not shown to have such a high value as to be worth all the lives lost.
Sure, the dude that was pretending to be a rightful heir would probably have been a worse monarch,, but that's only probably,
And in the end it was almost pure luck they did not fail in their schemes, so even if the princess that got saved is worth all the shit that went down, it ended way too close for comfort to just say all the things unicorn did were justified.

Although, it being that i was mostly watching the things from the viewpoint of the two protagonists, i am probably biased, so my opinions should be taken with a heavy dose of salt.

At least the author is still active, with all the Simple Surveys, Monitoring, Zashiki Warashi and Certain Magical/Scientific novels...

Let's hope he has just temporarily ran out of ideas...

And remember the author isn't just working on 1 or 2 or even 3 but 5 novels.
So you must have patience my friend.

Maybe you should start reading the author other LN while wait for the author to release vol 7

Just finished reading vol 6 and so far also my favorite vol of this serie, I just can't stop laughing when the "Dragon Killer" was use dirty joke to describe whats was happening.

“You’ve gotta be kidding me… So what do we do? At this rate, he’s gonna repeatedly slap that delicate princess’s teary face with that giant, rock-hard cannon he’s so proud of!!”

“Please do not say such vulgar things about Lady Staivia even as a joke!!”

“Okay, Heivia. Let’s fight back before he can shoot his white stuff all over that innocent girl’s hair!!”

Now I really can't wait for the next vol to come out.

When I read this, it felt like reading a bunch of short stories compiled in a series. Since no matter how ultimate, how cutting-edge, how great of a destroyer an object was described, it gets destroyed in a chapter nonetheless.

I like Zashiki better, honestly.

The bad thing is that 1 of 3 protagonists(Mai and Hayabusa) of the series only Shinobu's parts are interesting, the others can be letargic to read or just plain boring. Heck, someone told me I can read Chapter 1 and the last chapter and will don't feel like missing anything and was damn right.
