It doesn't appear that they bothered to fire the big rodent's coaxial 75mm (!) at all (though I'd have to look again, more closely). Then again, does anyone really remember that it's there when the 128mm is around?

Not in being undetected, since ambush is its role but more in failure to report an enemy unit. Use the radio if your Jagdpanther can't hit the enemy rather than wail ineffectively at it I mean...

Does anyone have a better count of the casualties caused to Black Forest Peak in this match?

Spoiler for My estimates::

BFP has 6 Jagdpanzers at begin of battle, 2 were destroyed at hill, and has 4 JP IV when they coming to the city but after the Maus is destroyed, they short down 1 JP IV (without knowing reason, may be engine brokedown). When Tiger P block the road, only 2 JP IV present, where is the last JPIV? Maybe engine broke down or plot hole when the director remember wrong numbers of them.

We did see one Jadgpanzer IV go after the Tiger (P) during the breakaways. Maybe they took it out before coming back? Especially if no one else went after the Tiger (P). Though that was probably the job of the large tank destroyers.

Finally the M3 got it's moment to shine! And they took out two tank destroyers that totally outclassed them!

Awsome!!

For a 2nd season I want Ami Cho to be named Japan national team coach.
And then have her pick both the Anglerfish and Hippo crews from Oarai, Maho and Erika from KMM, Darjeeling and Pekoe from St. Gloriana, Kay and Naomi from Saunders, Katyusha and Nonna from Pravda.
Then they go to Europe and ultimately face Emi and her school- and their fleet of E-program tanks...
Saunders brings a Firefly, Gloriana unveils that they have a A45/Centurion 1, KMM brings Maho's Tiger H (Erika forced to be Maho's gunner-hah!), Pravda reveals they have an IS-3 they have been saving. Miho at first feeling undergunned brings Tiger P, then after it breaks down on them ships it back and has the PzKpfw IV sent back

This is a problem I have with anime, TV shows, movies, heck any sort of literary fiction whatsoever. I absolutely hate it when people mess with logical consistency. If you tell me to suspend my disbelief in one way, almost no matter how absurd, I can live with it as long as you stay consistent. Stay consistent!

It's like people crafting a beautiful world with its own laws of physics, culture, technology and history -- and then having events occur that go contrary to the world-building. I find it jarring. Like nails on a chalkboard jarring.
You seem to be complaining a lot today, Willx, and mostly about elements that were always there in GuP. Are you sure you are not just unhappy Oarai won over KMM?

GuP is actually very consistent. Driving and maintaining go very well. As for gunnery, the show clearly subscribes to the theory that no matter what happens in theoretical computations and exercises, in battle, it is the "10:90 rule" (10% of the guys doing 90% of the kills), which does seem to have some historical justification (if everyone shot at the theoretical hit rates, we won't have many tanks left).

I was actually pleased that they held back from the usual trap of making the heroes uber shots - they were shooting better, but still with enough misses they are actually in-universe.

Even the tactics are consistent with a low-hit rate world. Remember in Ep5 when Miho tells her tanks to try to blow past the Shermans and Karina says "Are you serious?" Well, Karina, you'd have been right if this were a high hit rate world.

Too bad it was an incomplete nod though. Needed paint rounds. For pretty colors.

Still, so much positive waves during the episode, man.

Also the upcoming World Cup is a dangling plot thread that MIGHT be taken up by Mizushima if a 2nd season is finally greenlit. Who knows, we might find Emi on the other side of the equation if the stars align. That would be a heck of a reunion, for sure!

The bigger one looks to be a Sherman with a smaller light tank or armored vehicle of some kind on top.

After watching the battle, I have to say it followed the logic of the GuP world pretty well. I did have my heart stopping a beat when a certain vehicle in Oxidrot met its end in a very brutal matter.

What I found most ironic: In the end, Miho proved herself to be a true Nishizumi, by following the creed of Nishizumi-ryu to its full extent. I cannot think of a more fitting way of things coming back to their original place.
