It wasn't. The date on the web site had been removed even before the 3rd film hit the theaters. The date is yet to be announced.

As for the previous teasers - they served their own purpose. Nobody ever told you you are gonna see these shots in actual movie

...So they're releasing the BluRay less than a month after I go to Japan, where one of my plans was to catch the movie in theaters since I figured the BluRay would not be coming out any time soon. Not sure if I should laugh or be frustrated to no end over this...

Shinji can't catch a break from this cluster cuss huh? I must be one of the few who still feels sorry for this poor guy. why do I get a strange feeling the next set of events in the final might possibly break this guy even more?

Considering all that has transpired around him by the end of Q, I'd say he'll be even more reckless in Final. He'll also be bitter, cold, even...that is, until everybody dies and he finally cracks and goes bonkers. The End.

Well someone who goes through this much unfortunately has no choice but to accept what he's done and somehow find a way. Even after all this, I still don't hate Shinji. Yeah about 70-80% (at least I think so due to the comments I see here and there) of fictional chracters and viewers comes down hard on this guy, and I don't find that surprising at all. And I know how I feel towards Gendo, however I know I can't disagree that Shinji went along with it, and I think I already figured out his reasons for doing so. I feel a bit mixed up anyway. At the very least I don't just call just anybody out without figuring out why people do what they did.

When it gets down to it, What happened to Shinji last movie was yesterday to him now in this movie trying to save Rei which unfortunately caused a worldwide disaster which he found out slowly. The fact of how he was treated only made him feel more withdrawn (of course after 14 freaking years and people sees him as a possible angel being stuck in there) and denial of his actions, even if he is aware of all this...man. So much a guy could take, especially when you're in a world where special kinds of monsters exist and you have a power to take them down, and yet that very same power can also do damage to the rest of the world in some way if somehow used in a way it shouldn't be used, and if it did happen, obviously someone was going to find out, and you'll be dealing with a lot of hate, a hard road to redeem yourself, regardless of how it happen, what you think, and etc.

And Gendo, I still don't like the guy and I wished Shinji could have realized the kind of man he is now sooner and not listen to him. All of this could have been Gendo's plan for all I know after watching this. It's just what I think about this guy. Either way, no going back for Shinji now.

Ugh...All I know is that I still go back to before that I said in my own private blog about stuff hitting the fan for Shinji the moment Rebuild of Evangelion starts, the crud he goes through, especially with his Dad. I get that he lost a wife to some freaky experiment (her soul ending inside the Eva) but dang..(Yeah leave your kid behind and work secretly to bring your wife back or something at the expense of others, even your own son.) I believe back then and sometimes even now, this stuff was just waiting to happen partly It's just a slight feeling, and I do get Shinji a bit, but he does have to understand that it may be easy to do what others tell you, but you're the one who can make the decision to not listen to that person in front of you, even if that person is your father. Thing is, if Gendo cared about him, why the heck would he leave his son hanging, NOT EVEN Check up on him every now and then and just now call him over for "something".

Shiji Ikari may be an idiot, but he's one whose very fragile, struggling to understand the world around him. He's not thinking straight with the situation around him now. All he knew from before was saving Rei, his Eva wouldn't move, Rei was going to be gone forever from his sight, he wouldn't allow it to happen, and suddenly he wakes up in this mess, that he started, that he had no idea until now would get this bad from trying to stop the angel and save rei. A difficult thing to get over, and being around hate didn't make it any better.

Shinji is said to be a very complex and intresting character, probably is in a way. Even if most evangelion fans hate the guy, I wouldn't. I would even reach for the guy's hand and keep him from falling into the dark abyss below. You could throw Shinji off the tallest cliff and throw him off with hatred in your heart, mind and soul, I would bust through the crowd with something handy to keep me from falling, jump right down after him and still grab his hand... Why? Because even after all the negative things Shinji has done, somewhere inside him is a person that could be better than what he is now, regardless of anyone says.

Well... none of the scenes from the teaser at the end of 2.0 made it into 3.0, so I can only think of a very large grain of salt right now...

Watching 3.xx is the anime equivalent of watching a sheet of white paper.
There's no context and thus no content.

I'm not really sure anyone who HASN'T got a good understanding of Japanese can even comment on this properly. We have raws, but no subs.

Yep. At this point the teasers are nothing more than rough drafts. Previews shown at the end of 1.0 and 2.0 are both abandoned. I don't see how the preview at the end of 3.0 breaking that trend. Anno is just having fun at our expense.

My, ehem, "aquisition" of Rebuild 3.0 is likely not even going to be finished after I get back to work (estimated 7+ hours), so I suppose I'll use the time to demux the camrip subs in preparation. Mmm, lets see how the BR rip will break my system, since the last time I tried to play the uncompressed 2.22, the media player experienced massive slowdowns.

Reckoner, save yourself the trouble, you're not going to enjoy it anyway, don't watch.

We've had subs based on a camrip for a while now. They're mostly spot-on.
However, regardless of the spoken language, comprehending Q is not such easy of a task. You see, no viewer simply speaks the language of terms and cryptic references that characters spout instead of lines. The most complicated language material in there is technobabble that accompanies complex space operations or Wunder launch and they carry practically no information for the viewer. The rest is not that hard to follow (as much as anyone can anyway) especially with the Japanese subs on hand, although there was a difficult monologue by Gendou and at first I paused to sit down and discern it thinking it might finally have some exposition that will piece this together. Nope.

I mean, can I really fault Eva for obfuscating its own setting? Isn't that kinda what it always did? Although here, it's been perfected to an artform. It's really amazing how the creators do everything in their ability to ensure that it is impossible to understand just what exactly is the story.

That doesn't mean what's happening on the screen is all that complex however. The happenings of the movie are simple and can be summarized without fluff quite so:
Spoiler for Q:

And that's it, and that's what happens. Not before a bunch of contrivances!

Through Kaworu we learn that
Spoiler for Q:

So what the hell is that? None of the locales, objects or devices we're shown are estabilished. There's simply no point of reference to any of the events transpiring on screen. But have 3DCG mecha porn though, that's always a good replacement, right?
The plot thickens when it is revealed that
Spoiler for Q:

So yeah.
- Dialogues filled with terms that no viewer knows the meaning of
- Lack of estabilishment of setting
- Contriveances to keep the bare plot going
- 3DCG spam
- Plotholes! A new to Eva, it used to be just setting obfuscation, but now there's certain plotholes. Isn't it great.

It feels like there's another, probably less boring movie, we've missed in between 2 and 3.
