Okay, quasi, millitary. But still not something you simply toss aside.

Scuse the double post, but I have been wondering, what are the exact mage-rankings for the Wolkenritter? We know Hayate is currently a SS rank, but what about the knights?

I have a question. I dont know if this has been asked before (forgive me if it has), but do you have to watch the other two seasons before you watch this one?

Not necessarily, but it helps to understand many things.

Yeah... You're pretty much the fifth person who asked

It's highly prefered if you watch the first 2 seasons first... The first half of season one is VERY deceiving, but if you survived that you would fall in love with the rest of the series

(Just... Don't support yuri )

Although the series suggest yuri, the show is based on really close friendship between the cast members. Don't let what it looks like to cloud your mind and fog what it really is.

Yeah, though for some it's easier said than done...

Bottomline, we strongly recommend you to watch the first two seasons

Ep9 practically spoils the entire two seasons for you (not like the others aren't spoilerific enough) so if you're not going to watch them before then there might not be much of a point after...

That's not exactly true

He/She would miss out on alot of the good stuff that happened... As I've proved several times before, not everything good about the show is it's plot...

Sometimes it's the little things in life

I totally agree.
But why not enjoy it to the fullest ~
As in plot + little-bits.

To get the full Nanoha experience you really should watch the first two seasons. The first season takes about five or six episodes to really get going and there are more than a few moments that'll make you cringe and question why you're watching at all but stick with it as it becomes very interesting when it finally gets serious. The second season is a must-see although it picks up where the first season ends so you'll be lost if you haven't seen season one.

Can i assume that a "full set-up" means activating the device as well?

If thats the case, then no... The Barrier Jacket's capability would still remain unchanged.

Having a device out would just increase the Mage's potential for spell casting.

what do you mean by 'just putting on the barrier jacket?' It's not like they keep the barrier jackets in the closet, the only way to equip the is to do a full set-up.

Hmm. That would depend of the mage in question. Lindy, Chrono and the other TSAB mages come to mind.

I'm under the impression that standard-issue/common BJ's can be worn like normal clothes. Chrono and Yuuno doesn't seem to require a full set up.

Yuuno didn't have a device, and he was able to set up his Barrier Jacket.

Chrono set up Durandal after he has his Barrier Jacket on.

That means the device is an independent factor.

It just so happens that when in most cases when they set up their jacket, they would want their device out as well.
