Sorry, but I can't right-click it from My Computer. I already said that I can't access the drive from My Computer in any way, whether it's trying to open it, or simply right-clicking it. Whether I double-click it or right-click it from My Computer, all it will do is freeze and eventually, I get nothing.

I think that I need another program that can read it and format it, just like how GetDataBack can read it and copy files from it.

Sorry it took me a long time to update. I was trying a few other ways, like taking the HD to pros, but no luck.

Go Start, then Run, then type this: diskmgmt.msc and press Ok. It'll give you access to the Disk Management Console (however it depends on what version of Windows XP you're using).

Given that we've exhausted all available means to get your external drive working, the last method is to have a professional reformat the external drive, then have them diagnose the external enclosure and the cable. If either of them are faulty, they may be needed to be replaced.

If that fails, the final option is to replace either the hard disk drive or the enclosure, or both.
