Yeah, gender studies (broadly speaking) are usually filed under sociology. Gender studies themselves have a huge range; a lot of it pretty much goes "lol double standard", but fail to agree on exactly what the double standard is.
- I had a Seitenkan-related dream recently. Well, more specifically, Tsuji-related; all the characters involved, except Haruki, were the female versions. For some reason, and my now-awake brain chooses to interpret it as some sort of SOS Brigade activity, the crew were dressed as various Katamari Damacy characters, with Haruki, needless to say, as the King of All Cosmos. I remember thinking that Yuki in Katamari-cousin mode looked really cute, and Mikuru cute and hilarious. Itsuko also looked good, and Kyonko's costume was kind of ill-fitting (a bit too big). Something happened, I forgot what, which resulted in Haruki tripping and almost falling. When steadying himself, he managed to grab hold of Kyonko's chest. Haruki: ... We are moved to tears by the size of the thing. Upon which Kyonko decked him, and I woke up. And now I bring the story to you. |

For those of you not working on the project (and perhaps those that are as well), could you define "why is Kyonko moe?" and "How to explain to others what is special about this character that draws people to her?"

If I remember correctly, one of the things mentioned long ago about this was that a girl having Kyon's personality (the Deadpan Snarker sort, so to speak) is intriguing; not many series have a female lead with such a personality, with the closest one I can think of being Haruhi Fujioka from Ouran Host Club. As well, Kyonko's physical appearance is "moe", and not just because she is somewhat petite (after all, being petite is not a prerequisite for moeness, and there are indeed moe characters who are not petite).

Seitenkan Research Society. Current Schools of Why Kyonko is so Moe are;-
1. Literature; Reviewing the popularity of genderbending as a recurring theme throughout the history of literature, from Tiresias to Shakespeare. (Basically, genderbending is not new. Since Ranma 1/2 from the 80s, it's high time something else caught on.) 2. Mass Communication; Identifying trends in popular culture that result in the rapid adoption of dissemination efforts. (Tsundere! Ponytail! Loli!) 3. Psychology; Understanding the perception of shifting gender roles within the human mind. (People are drawn to GB by their unresolved sexual issues, which is perfectly normal in human mental development. Of course, a lot of psychology should be taken with a pinch of salt.) Feel free to expand the body of knowledge. |

I've seen things that would make make your mind crack. That would make your balls undrop, and promptly flee in terror up your rectum. Images so demented that you'd try to ward them off by toss your eyeballs at them. Things so terrible that after viewing them, an individual such as yourself would have no choice but to crawl back to your Mothers vagina where it was warm and wet, and spend the rest of your days relearning which hole the food goes in by sucking on Amniotic fluid. In relative terms, you're like a zit on my asshole. Who's sole survival is based on the fact that removing you entices brief pain. It hurts like hell Mr Lolikon, but anyone who can derive sexual gratification from someone who looks 14+ can grin and bear* it. Can you? *My thanks most putrid and puss filled adversary
