I always thought the artiste market is defined by how well they look. Sure there are a few like Jay Chou who looks like a drug addict yet composes like a genius, but those are far and between.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

^Really, even I think Jay Chou's got the looks. In fact he looks a lot better than some of them Asian dolls.

Regarding the article, I don't see a future for the business in taking the pop music scene by storm any time soon. Jokes do get old. Sure it might survive on the bubblegum tweenpop niche, toppling old business models yadda yadda, but since when was tweenpop any good, at all, whatsoever?

To be honest I consider this business rather exploitative. Take in money, churn out a shitty product, sell the dreams. Then throw out ruined former teen stars and drug addicts (like Disney, those scumbags). It's hardly the only exploitative business in the USA and especially in the entertainment business (the horror, the horror), but to have even more mechanisms to take away gullible parents' money and abuse kids' dreams is, eh.

I hope most of the money for that song, Friday wasit?, go to the girl and not the company...oh who am I kidding. Of course it's not.

That said, I've never listened to the song. Given the hits on youtube it seems I have more self-control than most of the Internet. I shall now proceed to pat myself in the back for my inherent moral superiority over the rest of you. Yes, I mean you.

Now economics.

Newsletter sells its credibility, loses trust

In fact, any newsletter that sells out to do a promotional piece pumping a stock loses so much credibility that investors should consider the newsletter trash, or at least the Stupid Investment of the Week.
Third time is a charm eh?

On the Royal wedding...

Ten things Kate can’t do once she marries Wills

To just included the ones I found amusing :

Quote:
1. Be referred to as 'Kate'

When Kate Middleton joins the House of Windsor this year, her official title will become ‘Her Royal Highness the Princess William of Wales’.

She can be addressed as 'Catherine' or 'Ma'am' (pronounced like 'ham'). But 'Kate' isn't going to cut it anymore by Royal standards.

Clarence House officials will probably wine and dine London's Royal correspondents and then ask them to please refer to Kate as 'Catherine' in the future. But we think they will refuse to do this. Something to do with search engine keywords.

5. Play Monopoly

In 2008, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, said that the Royal Family was not allowed to play Monopoly at home "because it gets too vicious". No member of the family has yet revealed what they play in its place during the Christmas holidays.

7. Eat shellfish

British Royals are apparently never served shellfish, because of a fear of food poisoning. So if Kate can't live without crustaceans, she will have to seek them out in her own time.

Wait, what? "The Princess William of Wales"? Did some editor fail to catch this, or did I just fall afoul of some obscure Royal rules of title?

The latter wouldn't surprise me. In French, I've heard wives described as "Madame [first name of the husband] [last name of the husband]".

The rather unpopular Princess Michael of Kent is a good example of this bizarre oddity.

I feel the same. But it's no worse than paying attention to Paris Hilton. Which I also don't find understandable, come to think of it.
