Someone succumbed completely to the Beiber fever Calling him someone of great talent and charm makes is overrating someone who hardly deserves the recognition he's getting imho. There's much better artists there. Looks like they define talent by how the artists market themselves.

^Really, even I think Jay Chou's got the looks. In fact he looks a lot better than some of them Asian dolls.
Regarding the article, I don't see a future for the business in taking the pop music scene by storm any time soon. Jokes do get old. Sure it might survive on the bubblegum tweenpop niche, toppling old business models yadda yadda, but since when was tweenpop any good, at all, whatsoever? To be honest I consider this business rather exploitative. Take in money, churn out a shitty product, sell the dreams. Then throw out ruined former teen stars and drug addicts (like Disney, those scumbags). It's hardly the only exploitative business in the USA and especially in the entertainment business (the horror, the horror), but to have even more mechanisms to take away gullible parents' money and abuse kids' dreams is, eh. I hope most of the money for that song, Friday wasit?, go to the girl and not the company...oh who am I kidding. Of course it's not. That said, I've never listened to the song. Given the hits on youtube it seems I have more self-control than most of the Internet. I shall now proceed to pat myself in the back for my inherent moral superiority over the rest of you. Yes, I mean you. |
