Thought I'd say (at this late date) that we're not really ignoring the "XP Compatibility" solution - I'm just really excited if there's a possible way to get onscripter in Windows Vista/7 to work out-of-the-box on Japanese filenames even without Japanese locale.

but I use vista and I never had any problems with the game..

even with this patch which chronotrig or Klash had said about copying the files - I didn't need to do that at all and the only problem I had was only when I tried to save the game at some point - but it just happened there and all went fine after that

I have Windows 7 (Home Premium)and it works perfectly with using Microsoft AppLocale, had no problem saving, no gliches no nothing and I've finished it.
So there is no need for XP mode, or keeping it in japanese locale.

Or just set it in JP locale, there is practically nothing to lose. I have used JP locale since 06 and haven't had to switch back yet o.0. (Of course, back then, it was XP, atm its 7)

That's right, and if so a huge mistake considering it's one of the most famous Japanese short novels ever written in the history of the universe.

Spoiler for Episode 5:
It's her speech pattern. She always ends her sentences in katakana, normally desu, which is used to put emphasis on a word. So it was translated into caps. The witch names (ANGE, MARIA) are also written in katakana, hence why they're capital. She's not shouting though.

I think there's still some problem with saves and the Mac version. It was working fine until I decided to restart my computer, and when I loaded it up again my saves were gone. Where exactly are the saves being stored anyhow?

Did you close Umineko before restarting your computer?

I finally have the episode 6 disc, but the Ep5 patch doesn't work for Episode 6. Do you have plans to make the patch from Ep5 work for the disc with Ep6 too, or do we have to wait for that until you translated Episode 6?

They said that they were going to make a patch compatible with EP6 as soon as they can.

By the way, has anyone who pre-ordered EP6 from HimeyaShop received an e-mail to confirm that it has shipped? Because I still haven't received anything.
