I suspect that from now on the series will also follow some more predictable paths, despise that is still kinda entertaining. We are -of course- probably going to see more of Fuwari's drunken mode in the future.

Chapter 4 is out. I don't know how to feel about this. The kohai feels like a childhood friend status and she is lagging behind the main heroine at the moment. This feels cliche undoubtedly, even if the author tries to wrap it around otaku culture. I don't believe the kohai will ever have an alone time chapter with the protagonist, ever.

The protagonist is same old idiot type, that cannot read the flow.

In this case, I don't think there's any way to overlook Fuwari. She's undoubtedly tied to Rito's past, so if he wants to move on, he'll have to resolve things with her eventually, whether he ends up with her or not.

Meanwhile, I don't think we can blame Rito for being oblivious to Ruri's feelings in the past when there has been nothing to indicate that she bothered to be as assertive as she is now. If Rito has been hurt over what happened in middle school and began to withdraw into the otaku world, why didn't Ruri comfort or stop him if she has "always been there"?

I think it's more of Ruri's loss because she waited too long to where Fuwari ended up making the first move, not because she has been trying and Rito just didn't notice.

Looking at that flashback picture in chapter 4..I guess she's the one who lost in rock-paper-scissor and 'confessed' to Rito.. in which in turn makes that scar in his heart

Alas, poor kouhai loli Ruri, with so many tropes set against her, barring major twists and some serious genre deconstruction, she's lost this game since chapter 1. Now we're basically going to see if the MC is going to be a wishy-washy douchebag about it or not. :/

I already felt she shot her chances down the moment she started the meet-up thing in chapter 1. Yet, the appearance of a potential love rival has got her proactive side out, so it may not eventually be a bad thing, story-wise. Sadly her senpai doesn't see her as a girl (not interested in lolis, what a way to put it

Spoiler: they dropped a super strong hint that Fuwari is part of Fuwa's past and even "was there" when he got humiliated and decided to give up on life (of course he is unaware of this). Furthermore, he is steadily falling for the maid; his kouhai, of course, has already caught on on this and wants to break them off.
