well if she keep doing that she would get parenchan (dealer wins eight times consecutively the 9th is yakuman) which obviously can be very deadly

with saki abilities she potentially can get the rarest yakuman sukantsu, and teru with that mirror thing and consecutive wins she's already monster enough even without parenchan which made me wondering just what their parents can do they always played together right?

Ok, so.let's talk about each character at the table

Spoiler for Teru:

From what I get...
- Teru will investigate on other ability&playstyle and find a way to overcome it. (Suyoka names this ability? as 'Shoumakyou')
- It's seem the value of Teru wining hand will get higher on each consecutive win she got ,but It will reset if her consecutive win is interrupted.
- Her ability seems to have some restrictions that prevent her from RON-ing other player which Ako sees this as (possible) Teru's weakpoint. I wonder how this will play out.
- Everyone called her CHAMPION.
- Oh, so, Koromo played with Teru before.

Spoiler for Toki:

- Her future vision ability is clearly show in this chapter. She's also have a restriction in that if she change the future, her ability won't work for a while
- Toki used to have another ability which she called "Ability of the three armies" but she lost it and gained this future vision ability insted
- Toki abiliy don't work on Teru...not surprised.
- I have to say "Toki resting on Ryuuka lap" scene is one of the best thing in Achiga-hen

- Cheerfull as ever ^^
- I like how she helped Toki ended Teru's consecutive win

Spoiler for Kuro:

- As we expected, she can't win a single hand.
- Shizuno and others cheer her up. Ako told her about (possible) Teru's weakpoint
- My hope maybe too high ,but I expect that Kuro will do something big that can surprise everyone next chapter. Kuro, I'm waiting for your counter attack!!!!. Achiga-dragon lord has to rebirth again!!.

I wonder how long this semi-final will last.

Wow that was excellent (Achiga 8). So Teru has a weakness? nice but i can't believe she played Koromo before because i remember Koromo saying she has never lost while playing on instinct before she lost to Saki, or did i misread. Oh well i can't wait for the next chapter.

Now that was an excellent and fulfilling Chapter 8. Hope we get to see it in the anime.

Maybe the entire premise of Achiga-hen rested on introducing and showing Teru's match. That's why the entire flow of the chapter felt so smooth compared to the rest.

Everything prepared before till now was for this moment.

I don't think we have seen the best of her. Even the "weakness" Ako spotted may be something to throw people off.

If one ability allows you to rule over everyone, why stop using it? But it's always good to have a back-up ability to counter the one ability. Teru has to be better than that. The only one who can play her should be Saki alone.

I'm hoping for a "Rising Sun" from Teru in the next chapter.

EDIT: Based on the Chinese translation I read, the announcer was actually comparing Teru to Koromo, who supposely won the most points in the nationals last year. She doesn't mean Teru actually played against Koromo before. As we all know, Ryuumonbuchi got knocked-out when Touka was in her Ice Mode.

i believe it's not like she's unable to ron other players she's just wont take a win if her hand value cheaper than the last one which made herself in furiten if she do so.

but just like peanutbutter says i don't think this is all teru can do, i would very dissapointed if kuro or toki can do something against her after all those forshadowing how inhuman she was

I'm trying to figure out how this works. At first it looked like Teru's ability to get better and better hands was one of her powers, but now I wonder if it isn't something she's forced to do.

For example, say she starts out a given game with no special ability to form a winning hand. She's just a normal player in that respect. However, once she gets a win, however small, she now has the ability to keep getting successive wins - but only if she's able to see a way to make a better hand than last time. If she wins with a lesser hand she's knocked back to square one. Once she sees the way to make that better hand then nothing can stop her - she appears to have the ability to negate any attempts to prevent it.

There does also seem to be an automatic reset in there: once she gets a hand above a certain level, she goes back to the start.

About the round that Kiyosumi is playing, only one school will advance right?


About Teru, as much as I like to see her destroy other teams, I also want to see other team counter attack her too. I don't like the idea of "Last boss can be only defeated by Hero of a story" much.

I want to see other teams show their str. and get better of Teru for some rounds. Then, in the last round, Teru will show her ture str. by winning with a big hand (Nine gates maybe), leaving a message to other team "Don't you dare think you have won me"

End of match.

That would be more interesting!!

I agree with you but i still enjoy seeing the backgrounds of the characters. Next chapter should have a little more of the matches i hope.

Kiyosumi is in the second round so it will be them and someone else that will advance (hopefully Miyamori or Himematsu). And i totally agree with what you said about Teru and her matches.
