Kamisama Dolls

There wasn't a thread for the manga, so...

From the anime thread:
Spoiler for length:

With Higurashi ending, ZnT on hiatus, and MM! frozen, I was worried I wouldn't have anything to read/buy anymore, so I was glad I found this manga thanks to the anime. It is quite interesting and I love the art style.
Characters' face expressions are also very nice, but I have to say, every Seki except Koushiro have the shortest tempers...

Mahiru(-sama) is in the OP, but considering her appearance and story, I worry about rushing or skipping.
Episode 6 --> More of the village/Beginning of past story
Episode 7 --> Finish past story and stay at village
Although since the scene where Hibino's clothes were being dragged off was in the episode 6 preview, maybe they will do everything in episode 6? It's a bit over half a volume

I guess episode 7 or 8 will go through all of the Kuuko and Aki business. Cliffhanger with Kirio's arrival.

The next episode (8 or 9) will be Utao and that other boy's material.

Mahiru(-sama) arrives in the end of 9 or somewhere in 10.
Mahiru(-sama) kidnapping Aki by end of 10.
And then 11, 12, 13 up until the resolution.

...Is my guess.

I was thinking about picking up the manga some time later as well after the anime finished (only 9 volumes, 55 chapters) since the anime had taken a better turn during the 4th episode, which I thought had more to do with the source material getting more interesting.

As to what direction the anime is taking, I think they might actually do more sever jumps in continuity later on, since the anime staff is trying bringing in future elements of the story earlier. Plus it makes sense if they are aiming for a another season (I hope)

Erf, only 14 chapters translated ? I was searching for them but it seems the manga is not really popular. I hope the anime will change that.

Same here hoping that actually some fast scanlation team will pick it up, as anime gets quite a nice response from fanbase.

keh, don't think it'll be that easy. I have however asked our translator if we could pick up the pace a bit, and the likely situation will be that we will have two translators on this, so there shouldn't be much worry looking forward. Finding raws on the other hand...

Someone in the anime thread mentioned chapter 42 would be a great place to wrap up the season and I agree (minus the last couple of panels). I feel it should be doable in the 6 episodes left if they leave out most of volume 4.

Spoiler for Volume 4:

Should also mention that the Vol 7 spoiler above is from chapter 42, so I really hope they will get to that in the anime.

Just curious but are your translators working from Japanese? There seem to be Japanese volume scans through the 9th book but if your translator is working from another language that wouldn't help solve the raws problem.

Wow you're right they are available. Last time I checked was a while ago, and I figured the situation didn't get that much better, but I was completely wrong, this is great.

I am not sure what's the latest raw right now, but seems like Chinese trans is up to Ch. 55 (one ch after vol 9)
Spoiler for chapter 55:

We should really get more groups to get interested in this manga, it's really good.

Are the Kuga another family in the SAME village? or are they from another village?
