I agree the Op was a little disappointing, I expected much more from its preview.

The ED is nice however and quite serene.

That ED is preeeetty awesome (+animation, also). Can't say I care significantly for the OP, but what the hell, it'll probably grow on me - Rumba did.

I was about to say something very similar but since you did already... I won't. Yeah, pretty much agreed on the music thus far. When I first heard Kuusou Rumba I liked season 1's OP much better, but now I think I actually like Rumba better. Go figure.

Anyway! More Zetsubou Sensei! Which means more fast and unusual dialogue which means I could hardly even tell what subject was being parodied half the time even with an online dictionary open throughout the entire episode! But that's okay! Because more despair is always good!

So yeah until such time as subs come out, let me just say that Ai sumimasen-headbutting the prison guards had me almost falling off my chair.

Half the issue is when the reference, pun, or both flies over due to the lack of understanding and/or lack of translation notes (yes that's required).

I expect the OP to grow on me as well as the ED, but otherwise it was business as usual.

Quite normal then.

There's no subforum for aired only liscenced and subbed. Which as of yet, it currently has no groups which will face the challenge of Z:SZS!

Which reminds me, here is a gif of some of that massacre. Too large to be used for anything, of course.
Spoiler for ep1 spoiler:

Was I the only one who liked Rumba better straight from the start?
I liked Bure and all, but Rumba sounded nicer to me.
As for the new OP, meh, I doubt I'll ever like it as much.

Which reminds me. I wonder if they'll do a Noblesse Oblige reference this time round.

Rumor noted - a bit OT: Moyashimon needs more love and a second season.

Yeah, this series needs a strong durable translator team in their mix. I always just assume that it may be more than a week or two between fansub releases. This competes easily for the "densely packed" translation challenge with Paniponidash.

I liked rumba for the start, but it was mainly the falling scene that caught me; I'm a Matoi/Itoshiki fan.

I'm always skeptical of dubbing, especially something so pun-heavy etc as SZS. Many of the jokes just won't transfer over.

Del Ray made the manga work, though it required like 10 pages of translator's notes at the back and they still lost quite a few of the puns (as far as I can tell), but it was a very good job nonetheless. I'll be more interested to see how they take some of the more visual puns.

I still probably won't watch it though - Yank accents really grate on my ears, for the most part.

Anyway, I am also a Matoi/Itsohiki fan to some degree, and that falling scene is awesome, especially in Goku.
