Wasn't very interesting because it felt like this plot has been done a thousand times before. Perhaps a couple more eps. before I drop it.

This could well be like Symphogear (IE the hidden gem of this season)

Watch it for the comedy rather than the plot, which isn't too important.

Hastur will appear in episode 3 I think, but I don't know about his/her gender (but according to Japanese Wiki (see ハスター), he/she may be a reverse trap but I'm not sure if it's true. That's why I watch this anime only for Hasta.

Well I dont think its as bad, he knows she could kill him without lifting a finger if she really wanted to. And we know nothing about Nyarlothepians, it could be seen as an act of love for them who knows?

I certainly wouldnt do sth like that, but its not a deal breaker for me.

I can't help but LOL that anime girls can physically abuse guys to preposterous lengths and fans eat it like candy, and the minute a guy offers the slightest resistance the outrage begins...

Well, sure, it may be overreacting a bit, because this is, after all, a very silly and nonsensical comedy series, but in a sense, I can see where he's coming from. I'd say stabbing with a fork is a little bit more than just offering slight resistance.

You said it yourself, this is a silly and nonsensical comedy. If the roles were reversed, the reaction would have been quite different.

To me it's a non-issue, a tiny part of the premiere.

I disagree with the general point behind this statement, since violence against women is a huge problem all over the world and needs to be mitigated. In general, women hitting men is a joke. Men hitting women causes real damage. Men are bigger, stronger, and more violent. It's just a fact.

On the other hand, I would prefer it if they had found a way to have the fork strike home here, as it did in the manga. Adds to the absurdity.

So I'm inconsistent. So sue me, lol.
