To be quite honest, all the characters of MF look alike. The artist drew them this way. If you look closely enough when Ranka is not smiling, her and Sheryl look like twins and they both look similar to Alto.. . .. . . Funny, eh?

Well, it's anime. Facial differentiation has never been one of the fields in which the genre has been distinguished. Most visual differentiation is made through body types, hair styles and height.

I know.
But that being said, we can't really expect a character to look "grown up" when they've hit adulthood, now can we?
Sheryl, probably; but if Ranka's anything like me, she won't grow THAT much. Her breast size alone might stay the same. But I wonder if she marries... perhaps Alto returns? And what becomes of Sheryl? I'm starting to wonder if they'll have it where Sheryl passed away and Alto was considered KIA in the end, Ranka left alone like Mao. Hm...
But then again, if Sheryl passes away and Alto returns, he might marry Ranka.
If Sheryl wakes up, she might marry someone else, Ranka might be left alone again.
If Sheryl wakes up AND Alto returns, Ranka might STILL be alone. To be truthful, Diamond Crevasse and Northern Cross became RANKA'S songs in the end of the second movie.

How odd...

But I'm looking forward to seeing more of Ranka in the next Macross, hopefully.

I said what I wanted about that yesterday.

But I wouldn't count on Ranka staying as flat-chested as she is now. Again, look up her mom in the series.
