If someone rode the last novel can he tell me if kirito and Asuna is together?

rape would not be absolutely forbidden by the Taboo Index. If even lesser crimes such as property damage are utterly forbidden by Quinella, one would think that rape would be all the more so, and even nobles should be unable to violate it. It seems like an uncharacteristic omission for a character who is supposed to anticipate possibilities to a nearly omnipotent extent.

The nobles were able to carry it out because it was a punishment. From their perspective it was a perfectly justified punishment for their slander. I'm sure the Taboo Index prevented rape-like scenarios, such sexual harassment or forcibly restraining a person, but it's also possible that a noble's punishment on a lower noble allowed them to do such things. There were still things they were allowed to do, such as kissing and such. So there were still some things they weren't allowed to do, but it was enough to the point where "Rape" is a punishment that can be given under certain circumstances.

Quinella herself, after embedding Cardinal's code into herself, stopped caring about such things, anyways.

Yes they are, and they are not gonna break up. They didnt in the WN and seeing how the relationships with the other girls are being tonned down and how lovey-dovey they are in both the LN and the anime they are probably gonna be cheesy all the way troughout the series

Speculation on how Alicization will be adapted into Anime? My guess is that Vol. 9-14 will become SAO III, but will the second sub-arc be long enough for a full season? I think it'd be better to make it a 2-3 hour movie. Either way, fingers-crossed that the whole of Alicization will be animated.

The second sub-arc covers web ch 6 & 8. Web ch 8 alone is longer than ch 7 which was 3-3.5 volumes long in the LN. So web ch 8 should be at least 4 volumes in the LN and web ch 6 might be a volume long. So the second sub-arc should be at least 5 volumes long which should be enough for a 2-cour season.

they didnt break up in wn, i mean later. Nad their level of closeness in wn and ln are similar imo.

- I haven't read the novel, but seeing that Reki Kawahara is not Gen Urobuchi, I'd say that they're definitely and absolutely together.

Consider the fact that Japan had an adult version published with 16.5 after the one that didn't have it. Also compare the scenes of the anime, official English version of the novel, and even the :shudder: manga and it's basically impossible to deny that they actually did have sex with each other.

This didn't happen. 16.5 was just something the author wrote, that was posted on his web-site, separate from the actual novel.

There was no "adult version" published. The web novel for the Aincrad arc, as originally written contained no sex scene. It did the novel equivalent of fading out before sex, then fading back in as they were cuddling afterwards, just like can be seen in the official English version of the novel. Later on the author wrote the infamous 16.5 as a short story that was posted on a separate section of his website - not linked to from anywhere else on his website - where he hosted some R-18 fanfiction. Unsurprisingly, it never made it into any officially published version of the story once Reki became a professional author.

The only time 16.5 was ever included with chapter 16, was in some fan translations. Wherein the fan translators inserted it into it's logical place in the story. A likely innocent mistake on their part, but a mistake nonetheless.

In the novel, Kirito and Asuna are both the MC, and it has Kirito's POV.
The manga for Progressive decides to have Asuna's POV instead.

SAO Progressive Vol3 has recently been translated into Chinese. IIRC nobody has mentioned what happened in this volume here yet. Overall, it's a pretty good read. I don't have that much time these days, so I'll just mention a few choice bits and not do a full summary.

Spoiler for Progressive 3:

-The dry canyon floor was turned into a river floor, showing that Aincrad changes between Beta and now.

-Kirito & Asuna was chased by a 8m high horned bear during a quest. Who could bulldoze through trees thicker than they were like it was nothing. And who could breath fire. Both of them agreed during the chase that 'That's not a bear'

-Kizmel's back. Along with all the hints about AIs from previous Progressive volumes.

-The first hint of Cardinal creating Quests without human input, and that it could create conclusions not foreseen by developers like in ALO where Jotunheim could raise up and nuke Arrun during Excalibur arc. Kirito at this point just discarded it as exaggeration of the story, and considered the description of the Quests saying 'if the Forest Elves gather the 6 keystones, Aincrad will fall back to earth' to be false.

-Kirito's 'Anneal Blade +8' broke. He's getting a new sword for next volume, from a Quest reward.

-The floor boss this volume was taken down mostly be a Dark Elf NPC Kirito and Asuna met, the scarred guy in the illustration. Who could buff every member on his side of the raid and had Piercing Weapon skill 1000, having demonstrated the final Sword Skill of that skill, 'Flashing Penetrator'. Kirito knew what that sword skill looked like from SAO trailers.

-Kawahara mentioned the boss fight in this volume is slightly easier (once Kirito and Asuna got there anyway), having wanted to depict boss fights as not always 'make it or break it' events - otherwise it'll be a bit hard to believe that the Frontliners reached all the way to Floor 75 if they were on the verge of being wiped out every floor.
