I'm actually using some of the system voices (guess who, no it's not one of the guys). Is it just me, or does anyone else think bites like "all I need is you" don't really fit into any possible task the computer could throw at you, ever? Half the voices are wasted in this way I think (but very nice to listen to, heh)

I think playing Sara then You actually significantly increases your chances of foreseeing one of the major revelations of Coco's route:

Namely, the revelation that Tsugumi is the twin's mother. As one fan site pointed out, when Tsugumi and Sara fight over the pendent, Sara asks Tsugumi "Are you going to run away from me like your ran away from him?" That line means very little by itself, but those who played Sara's route first might be able to figure it out when it comes up in You's, since I believe its in both versions.

Interesting to note (as the fansite did) that Sara obviously figured it out - probably Tsugumi let slip she could see the image, since only people who can see IR can see it. Can't remember if Sara ever showed signs of knowing in Coco's route though.

As for Sara, I think she instinctively knew Tsugumi was her mother (note how she's somewhat disturbed after seeing Tsugumi for the first time in any of Hokuto's routes.), but she actively didn't want to believe it, so she only suspected it in You's route and Coco's route. I'm guessing that scene from Sara's route was the result of Sara confronting Tsugumi over her suspicions, which didn't go quite as well as when Hokuto did it in Coco's Route.

Sorry to butt in, but my preferred playing order is You, Sara, Sora, then Tsugumi.

It's harder to figure stuff out that way, which helps set up Coco's route better.

I think You's route is the most revealing of all the others personally. It says something about BW, the 4th dimension, the mystery of You's parents, gives off the feeling that there's a conspiracy, etc.

Anyhow my order was Tsugumi Sara Sora You. Which doesn't seem to be all that common.

I wanted to mix and match both Takeshi's and the Hokuto's routes, which still left me bored during Sora''s route.

I must say though I completely missed the ball on Tsugumi being the mother. Probably because I was stuck with the idea of the difference between the perspectives just being a 5th dimensional one rather than a 4th dimensional.

My order was Tsugumi-You-Sora-Sara. Had I known better, I would have swapped around Sora and You. Like you, I was bored with Sora's route as well, to the point where I clicked fast through the text (something I rarely do when I'm playing a VN.)

Regarding the whole, "Tsugumi is the mother" thing, I figured that one out by You's route (I realized the 2034 thing there due to the computer date, realized that meant Sara's birthdate was 1/21/18, which was almost nine months after LeMU, and since I'd seen Tsugumi's route before that, I figured out that at least Sara was Takeshi and Tsugumi's daughter.). But because I didn't know there were two Kids, I couldn't explain how the Kid managed to stay the same from 2017-2034. After learning that Hokuto and Sara were siblings, it only confused me even more, since I couldn't figure out how Hokuto could possibly exist before he had even been born.

As for me, it was in the middle of Sora's route that I began to realize how much I was enjoying the story. Sora is my fave, but I find all the characters very likable.

Quite frankly, no, it doesn't bother me, because that's just typical genetics. All it means is that someone in Takeshi or Tsugumi's families had blonde hair, while another person had brown hair. That's all that's really needed to make that happen. It's just a little less likely to happen than inheriting a parent's hair color.

I generally interpret it as a "heat of the moment" thing, since she had just striped down to show him her scars. That said, I personally felt that the sex in Tsugumi's own route felt more romantic, just because Tsugumi is acting so freaking happy about being with him.

I also suspect it wasn't really intended to be a one night stand... circumstances just kind of screwed them over in that regard. So they kind of had to wait 17 years to continue where they left off, although for Takeshi it feels much shorter than that. Tsugumi definitely got the bad end of that deal, although I suspect its going to take a while for Takeshi's confusion to settle down. On the plus side for him, he got both a lover and a cute daughter out of it - AKA two of the three big otaku fantasies - and the third involves mecha. Maybe four fantasies if you include a harem, I guess.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but didn't the confrontation happen in both You and Sara's route? It just plays out differently in Sara's route because the Kid vaguely remembers his past with Sara and hence turns on Tsugumi.

I'm just saying that if you play Sara and then You, there's a chance that you could pick up that Tsugumi is the mother.

As for GundamAce's thing about having picked up on Tsugumi being the mother because of the timeline... good catch, but that one wouldn't have been as obvious to the original Japanese audience - most western countries use a date convention closer to the German one than to the Japanese, so the German vs. Japanese dates thing doesn't fool us.

I think I played Tsugumi-You-Sara-Sora. And no, I didn't really see any of the major plot twists coming. Kind of glad in a way, the Kid confronting Tsugumi about their relationship is one of my favourite scenes in the game. I'm not sure whether I would have reacted differently had I know about their relationship beforehand.

Did Sara show signs of knowing about Tsugumi being her mother in Coco's route, or is that simply a Sara/You routes thing?

Oh trust me, the fact that I suspected Tsugumi being the mother did not stop me from loving the confrontation scene- in fact, it almost drove me to tears, as I felt my eyes watering up (only one other scene in an anime has made me do that.).

As for Sara showing signs of knowing in Coco's Route, the thing is that I think she suspected something familiar about Tsugumi the first time she saw her in every route, but I don't think she acted on her suspicions in Coco's Route like she did in those routes, so it only remained a suspicion until Hokuto confirmed it for her. The fact that she found out Hokuto was her brother earlier probably contributed to that. It was the same thing for her and Hokuto- she suspected he was her brother shortly after they met, but she only suspected it until it was confirmed in her route.

I agree, the Takeshi x Tsugumi sex scene felt like "in the moment" thing, but I also agree that it wasn't just meant to be a one-night stand thing- judging from their dialogue on the submarine, I think Takeshi was going to stay with Tsugumi had he made it to the surface safely. Takeshi's confusion actually went away pretty quickly, at least according to "After You've Gone": it's only been three weeks yet he seems to understand the situation much better than at the end of the game.

As a side note, it's been exactly one year to this day that I got Ever17 and started playing it- time flies by so fast! I feel so much different about the Infinity series now than I did on November 11th last year.

Due to this reason he may have already loved Tsugumi from the beginning, at least unconsciously, so that one night stand might not be as awkward as it looks. After all, Takeshi´s children was part of what You´s prophecy.

Huh, now that you mention it, it's true. I never thought of it that way before, but when I think of it in that mindset, it does seem more natural regarding what happened in Coco's Route.

Lol at You's prophecy. I remember looking over a part of the game after I finished it, and I laughed at You's prophecy because despite it being a joke, it ended up mostly coming true. Don't know about the successful job, but he certainly did get a wife and children out of it in the end.

1. Well, obviously Sora can't be immortal because she's a robot, but yeah, everyone else is immortal.

2. He grew older. That's all. As for the eye color, you'll notice the character designer is very lazy and gives all the characters the same eye color as hair color. But Kaburaki already had light brown hair, it's not impossible to think it would become dark brown.

3. I don't think she knew he was Kaburaki, just that he was a Takeshi imposter (and therefore most likely was working for Leiblich.). However, by the epilogue, she knows it's him.

Been a while since I posted here.

I still need to play Remember11, but for the Ever17 fan, there is also 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors for the DS. I recently finished that, and I can say that it's a pretty compact infinity-like game, with many twists and revelations on par with Coco's route. The only problems I have with it are the game system (one save file, can't skip puzzles, no gallery, etc.) and the ending is pretty wtf. The dialogue bits are great, you can expect punny jokes like Coco's Ame-jokes in just about every room if you look in the right spots.

Also, Clover is awesome. Yes, I'm still very much biased for pink hair. But she is the most popular character in Japan, and is probably really popular over here too. >_>

Hey, I don't know why I put it off for so long, but I scanned some pages of the Limited Edition Ever17 pamplet that came with the PSP version of the game. The following images are all new pieces of art that were only made for the PSP version.

Personally, my favorite is the Tsugumi one, though I have a feeling a certain someone will like the one after that better.
