Then that would imply that they were idiots for choosing it in the first place. If it was removed, I think the explanation is more towards the impact on the ending. It could have killed Kallen x Lelouch, or it could have bolstered it. We don't know but it could have had a large affect on the ending's level of ambiguity.

Regarding the code, it's possible that it activates upon death, and the opposite may also be true.
But now that I think about it, C.C. received some sort of wound on her chest that she didn't have before she got the code... so I'm actually changing my mind about this. I'm leaning more towards that you have to die first now.

There's one thing someone said that I find very interesting.

Code Geass: R Two.
Since C.C.'s name is C Two, and V.V. is V. Two, if Lelouch were to become a Code bearer he would change his name to R. Two.
And he might be the first one to have both a Code and the Geass, hence the title of the anime.

It could be just a coincidence of course.
The crane on the kart represents longevity in Japan. And an origami crane can grant a wish if it is made 1000 times. Of course this could mean that Lelouch gained eternal life through death and the legend he created. Or it could be that he recieved the Code and also fulfilled C.C.'s wish (which I have a hard time seeing being fulfilled with Lelouch gone unless explained better)
good point. which reminds me, i never did knew what R2 stands for.

as for carrying the body part, there are plenty of explanations on how he can get away, for example:

geassing the people responsible for carrying the body and performing post-mortem of it beforehand

note that this is just one of the many possiblilties, it's up to the viewer to intepret

C.C also said to the cart driver at the end "Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you...well, I guess thats a little wrong eh, Lelouch..." I think anyone knows what this means
That would make Lelouch a gaint douchebag.
Lol, but he is a giant douchebag.

Regarding Lulu's death, it was simply left with enuff ambiguity that zealots could run off screaming to the clouds he's still alive while practical heads accept what they see on-screen...Both factions will undoubtedly display the feelings of surprise or satisfaction when Sunrise uses that inconsequential breadcrumb everyone has been pigeoning for to set-up the SOOPA OVA based on DVD sales...For me, I don't care if he's dead or alive (whatever serves to make the overall effect of the show better is the one I'll choose if we're at gunpoint)...It can only serve as enhancing someones own subjective longing though...For me, the question of whether or not he's truly dead serves as a pothole on the street they paved and how they could have better paved it...

I mean if the simple fact of him concretely being alive or dead changes and underscores the way all the plot elements were handled in R2, WTH are we really arguing over??

So he's dead, that was the $hit! = So he's probably still alive, that was the $hit!

Lelouch should probably stop taking care of C.C.

Perhaps C.C. will be visiting an orange farm in the near future.

(People, do you get the meaning?)

I think Lelouch is dead. Sometimes, the best endings end with the main character dead.

Also, C.C. is probably talking to Lelouch in the World of C.

Yes we do, and we don't want C.C. to visit or buy the farm.

I am all for Lelouch get both. I am not for kalulu or Cluclu.

What I am think is that no matter how well thought out a possible R3 will be, it will definitely have a GW-EW feel, because it must have a third faction. What I would prefer, though, is if they decide Geass itself is the future and try to give everyone Geass... btu we all know that will actually be much worse.

Okay, here are my thoughts. I honestly thought he was dead when I first saw the episode. Afterward, I browsed online through forums (including this one) for further discussion on this topic. As I started reading the points, I started going through the episode again and again and again. I also started considering all the factors involved in Code Geass up until now.

My simple conclusion is this. I do feel he is alive. I am not a zealot, or in denial. I had believed that he was dead the first time I saw the episode. However, after seeing the ending several times over following that, I have come to the conclusion which is au contraire.

Another point, I feel the R2 is Rebellion 2. If L.L. is strictly pronounced in a Japanese accent, it would be closer to Erru Erru, i,e, Erru Tsu, not, R.R. (Are, Are), i.e., Are Tsu. Just a thought.

However, I do feel he possesses both the Code and the Geass now, therefore, he and C.C. are together. (And yes! I am a fan of the two ending up together! )

She can't. Marianne wasn't dead back before and so isn't Lelouch. He's the carriage driver. :]

Hi, guys!

I've written up a new, more etymological anaylsis of the 25th episode. Check it out here.
