I read your concern about the Silverback's flying capabilities. Did you read Ch. 5 and 6 yet? Cause those will help fill you in on it, and it also provides the background for the name 'Silverback'. Now, on how the IS-verse would be like in decades/centuries, no idea... |

As per now, I'm rather concerned about the pilots. Would it be too farfectched to have Personal pilots hand their units down to their children/anyone worthy?

What I mean is the design philosophy
Gen-1: Creating a functional I.S. with simple equipment and reliability Gen-2: Creating a multipurpose I.S. with focus on equipment switch Gen-3: Creating an I.S. with special anti-I.S. equipment controlled with image Interface system Gen-4: Creating an I.S. that can generate equipment on a whim I.S. follows the analogy of jet fighter development (whether coincidental or purposefully made I don't know)

No
For example a shot to the temple by a pistol loaded with lead/HP round may cause permanent brain damage because the skull deflect the bullet but still receive ALL of the kinetic energy without any cushioning mechanism. Plenty of soldier getting shot in the eyes, and survived because it missed the brain.

The second one focuses more on his fight and flight instinct since the members who caught him decide to shoot him and he survives just barely by partial summoning his arm to block the bullet (Idiots forgot he was the male IS pilot).
