The Harvest Moon Series

Am I the only one who still plays the good old Harvest Moon for Snes?

At first when I played it I was a bit skeptic, I mean, all you do is take care of your little farm and brush your cows. But it's so addicting and I always feel a bit happier after playing it

Any other HM-lovers out there?

I actually considered buying a gameboy just to be able to play Harvest Moon when I'm riding the bus and stuff :P

It's been a long time since I've played it, but count me in as a fan of Harvest Moon! Ha...

My first one was Harvest Moon 64, and I still love it today. Man, I want to play it now, you just had to remind me...

I think the best Harvest Moon game is Back To Nature in PS1.The complexity and replaybility blows me away.I also married all girls in the town,by playing five times over and over again.

I really disappointed with two HM games in PS2.Save The Homeland lack complexity of BTN like marriage and the game also very short. You just have a year to play unlike in previous HM games which you have 3 years to manage your farm. While I thought A Wonderful Life is better than STH but still inferior than BTN.The game went too slow even I need to ride my horse anyway I go.The town also too small if compared many HM games before.

My first Harvest Moon was FoMt for the GBA, and that already made me a fan of the series. Now I need to get a DS for Rune Factory...

I feel the same way.

I love HM; my first HM game was HM64 when I was like 9 years old.

Ah Harvest Moon. Such a great series. I've played the n64, psx, gbs, Gamecube, and ps2 versions. Sadly I haven't been able to get my hands on the snes version. I could probably find a rom, but that's not really the same...

So far my favorite would have to be the n64 and psx versions. The newer ones just seem to be missing something...

The newest ones don't seem to have the same charm the older ones have.

My favorite Harvest Moon is definitely Back to Nature for the PS. Awesome game.

My opinion of the HM series is that it's like the slice of life genre turned into a game... not something for everyone, but extremely heartwarming for those of us who like this type of entertainment.

So true, it sounds silly and a bit embarassing, but just seeing that smile the cows have when you brush them in the HM:Snes game... :P

My fav (and 1st one) was the N64 Harvest Moon game. Then I played the GCN one, then FoMT, then I played the DS one, which I was disappointed with due to the fact my game kept corrupting, losing all my precious saved info... T_T...now I'm saving up for the 2nd DS version, hoping it's less bugged...

Well, I guess that explains why I like the slice-of-life genre. Very nice observation. ^_^

I also love BTN - this time I'm playing old PS1 Games a lot.
I just got BTN for Girls in Japanese but it takes me two hours to read over a few lines, so I better save if for later times (if I'm able to read Japanese a little bit better

I agree. Guess that's why I like these games. I also like farming even though I can't farm IRL, so to me its an added bonus. I still think the SNES and GCN versions are the best. I never got a chance to play the N64 version, but apparently it is the best.

I never get a chance to play the old versions due to my parents's laws or rules...XP Anyways, I have two of games for my gameboy sp and one for PS2 which I need to borrow my friend's or anyone have the PS2

The reason why I like the game cuz it's so relaxing and funny to be a farmer all after I'm a country girl XD

I still think that the best Harvest Moons are Friends in Mineral Town and the one that was on the PSX. I remember not planting at all in FiMT since I spent my whole time at the mine digging for money and shipping the minerals I can find.
