yap, i was lurking around for 6 months, considering they started it late 2005, it is quite fast. (but i think the last time i checked, which was 3-4 months, it was like 30-40% in editting... i may be wrong, of course ~~)
guess i was a bit too hasty with the term "soon"

actually, this is the generic word used for the usual translation stuff : inserting the translated text, timing, etc etc.

depend of the games, this is sometimes the longest part of the translation.

Shuffle was created around the universe of flower, it's said on Wikipedia (according to you that is not the best place to know the truth)
A primula is a type a flower. I knew that. For the others one I didn't search.

I'm currently stalled on 6/15/2004 because that's where the alpha patch stops and the original text comes back. I may try and advance a few more days unassisted (Still waiting for SYSTRAN to finish so I can run that along with ATLAS for better translations).

BTW, the OP track "Mirage Lullaby" feels like a song I could listen to while driving through the countryside of Japan in an R32, whether during the summer or winter (blame that on me for being a petrol head and mixing it with visual novels).

Why is this show so popular? I tried watching the first season and I think it's so bad that I stopped watching at ep 15 or so. (and I've finished watching some really bad series too)

Because the Q&A thread is for fact-based questions and answers, I can't really offer much that isn't speculative in nature, but I can say that it is...

• based on a popular game series,
• that features a variety of beautiful heroines ("Who would you choose?"),
• and is famed for a shocking plot development that occurs shortly after you quit watching the show (eps. 18-20).

At the time when it aired, the "fanclubs" in the show encouraged a lot of those watching the anime to similarly cheer for their favourite heroine, resulting in some pretty massive fanclub wars that forever changed the posting rules on this forum.

So I'm not sure if it's more the content, or more the fan phenomenon that surrounded it, but it remains one of the most well-known and commonly-referenced bishoujo game anime adaptations of all time.

huh? since when? this is news 2 me....but i did know that there isn't going 2 be a 2nd season for SHUFFLE!, but a ripoff season?

Memories (which is what people presume is season 2) is nothing but a fairly crappy recount of what happened in the first 24 eps ... only original is the last ep (Which is filler nonetheless) and a single scene here and a single scene there ... and those are even mainly just alternative angles

Also... your frame of reference is wrong. It should be all past tense. Shuffle! first aired in, like, 2005. The "retelling/rehash/omg" Memories aired last year.

Memories did have specific OP/ED original material and the last episode is a bit of a throw-away-reset omake (funtime) but otherwise the series was a waste. I even heard some fans spliced out the original pieces and discarded the rest.

The primary purpose of the rehash was to put some upswing into Shuffle! merchandise DVD sales. Each episode *sort of* focused on a particular girl's point of view - but even then it wasn't particularly well-edited. A big problem I had with it was that it really spotlit just how inconsistent the artwork and animation was during the course of the series. It aired on non-premium channels in Japan rather than the "premium" channels the first season aired on.
