Yea, really. I was told that by alot of people, not just the guy at the anime store, actually. Anime is not all that popular in the US like people like to think it is. It sucks too.

And I'm sorry to hear that about your friends too. Not kool!

14, and even 12 is biologically old enough to have babies.

Generally, 22 is younger than the average age for women having babies in the US. Cute kid though.

This actually made me curious so I looked up some stats. In 2006 the average age for first childbirth was 25.0, in 1970 it was 21.4.

But an interesting point was that I found out that a third of new mothers were over the age of thirty when they had their first child. That significantly skews the data, and I couldn't find a standard deviation for any of the stats. But considering that the corresponding statistic in the other direction would be under 20 and that only 21% of first time mothers were under 20 this means that while the absolute average is 25 the most common ages for first time mothers would be between 20 and 25. So actually 22 is pretty common and I'm guess that the median would probably be closer to something like 22.

Sorry went off on a stat rant. I just found it a little bit interesting.

Aha! Well, to make it "better" or "worse" for you I was 21 years old when I had him... 20 when I got pregnant with him. lol
Oh man! Go me for proving more people right about having babies at a young age, I guess.
Honestly, I'm glad I had him at a younger age than most. You have time for a lot more practice on being a mommy. Aha!
Atleast I wasn't 15... Oh well. lol
I didn't even get to party on my 21st birthday.
