I finally got around to reading the novels, just finished the first chapter and a little of the second for the first volume and.... I like the anime better so far. I kept waiting for the storyline about Hirai to pop up and was disappointed they skipped it entirely. I understand what the author was going for but being aquainted with the anime first, I was disappointed that it wasn't there, it was a pretty powerful set of scenes in my opinion. I also don't like the lack of breaks in between scene changes like we got in the Full Metal Panic novels. It makes it harder to find your place when you go back to reading, yanno?

I still like the novels though, it's nice to see what Yuji's thinking about in each scene as I never got a feel for his thought process in most of the show.

If he has a weakness, it would be his armor as it's vulnerable to a shatterpoint assault.

Another would be that his senses are so sharp in detection that one could overload them with a massive countermeasure in the manner that you overload a speaker. But then again, don't underestimate his blind fighting berserk mode.

Doesn't sound familiar? In the Anime storyline the former Flame-Haired Red-Hot-Eye Hunter fell in love with a Tomogara. That Tomogara is Merihim(the one Wilhelmina fell for too, in the anime at least). Won't history repeat itself here? I don't think so, There is human involvement this time so it would be different.

I hope the author doesnt intend on leaving kazumi as the quiet human girl forever.. the character has a lot of potential.. shes.. kaede-esque (if i may use the anaology )?.. then again the novels have already gone a long way , and the nature of the shana universe makes it improbable.. so it remains unlikely. still, i still believe there are a lot of interesting possibilities for her
