Well, you seem rather optimistic to think that he would have weaknesses.

I understand what the author was going for but being aquainted with the anime first, I was disappointed that it wasn't there, it was a pretty powerful set of scenes in my opinion. I also don't like the lack of breaks in between scene changes like we got in the Full Metal Panic novels. It makes it harder to find your place when you go back to reading, yanno?

I still like the novels though, it's nice to see what Yuji's thinking about in each scene as I never got a feel for his thought process in most of the show.
The Hirai scenes weren't really "left out" since the novels actually came first. It'd be more accurate to say that they were "added" in the anime.

I might be wrong, but if I correct it a little, it was like that... Previus Flame Haze of Alastor where in love with Alastor and that Merihim dude fell for Empatsu Shakugan no Uchita (If I spell that right ) , in the end there was Wilhelmina who loved that Merihim dude.

They shouldn't have licensed it, if they don't plan to finish the translation.

Really? Dang, I got confused of who previous Empatsu Shakugan no Uchita loves (where did uchita came from?).

If there's no plans to finish the translation from Viz, then I would have to say that it will probably be picked up by someone else. Anybody can pay for the license.

No, they didn't TheLastGuardian(The Big Boss at B-T) gave permission for the project to start on B-T from Volume 3 onwards since they haven't beeen released in english and Viz has stated that they won't be releasing anymore volumes.

I'll probably be an editor when the actual project is created and official. Now we just al lot more translators
(We needz MOAR!!! MOAR!!!!) and more editors. so since the first two novels won't be translated we only have.....17 more volumes to go(14 if you don't count Volumes S, SII and 0)

If you e-mail Viz, as I have and others have, they reply that they have no current plans to translate anymore of the SNS novels.

What is even funnier, Viz didn't liscense the novels. Media Works did. And Viz hasn't a clue how many novels they liscensed.

Real unproffesional in my opinion, to not know about your products.
