There may not be enough time. I foresee things will be really rushed, even though they have stretched this to 2 episodes.

I rather look forward to anything from the main series, a trailer, some form of announcements, teasers, anything.

Oh sweet deliciousness. I just watched the RAW without understanding Moon. But I know enough of the mahjong to get what's going on.

It felt rather.. anti-climactic... but we know that there's something bigger that will come along.

Can anyone tell me what happened on Oohoshi win? like was that 4 tiles that she got at the end suppose to give for bonus points, but Shizuno stopped it with her powers? she was going to say 6000, but Shizuno said she should look at the tiles. Guessing she got less then 6000 therefore the reason why she came 2nd place.

She did not get the dora bonus... (The hand needs to be calculated by someone to reinforce the reason.)

I'm so used to Shizu being high energy that her "monster of the mountains" attitude in this final matchup was a little scary. I'm glad Achiga managed to win (and the stage does look pretty cool), but if that final match of the finals ever is animated, it'll be a while longer. I'm not even sure the next mainline season will reach that point. Achiga's been a long ride, but I'm glad to have ridden it. Just as fun as the main series, and despite my complaints, the characters did become much more distinctive near the end. Now, if only my copy of Achiga's "Yume no Hit Square" would get here already. Come on, postal service!

Well that was fun. I liked Ryuuka's eyes and the preview of side B semi's quite a lot. Like someone else said the episode was a bit anticlimactic but I think that because of how spaced out the episodes were.

Personally I marathoned Achiga episodes 13-15 one more time before watching episode 16 to give it a better feeling of flow, it was quite fun to see the monkey magic in animated form. Seeing that added part of Ryuuka they inserted was interesting and personally thought it was a nice touch, gave her a little something besides seeming like Toki version 1.5.

Well nothing more to do but wait for Saki season 2, hopefully the manga will actually make it out of the semis for Side B by then but I'm not holding my breath.

Winning with riichi lets you use the tiles under the dora indicators as extra indicators ("ura-dora"). Since Awai also calls kan before winning, she flips an extra indicator beforehand, so she gets a total of 4 indicators on the win. Part of her offensive ability is always getting bonus dora from the ura-dora, but because she crossed into Shizuno's territory on that hand, her ura-dora ability was nullified, so she didn't get enough points to knock Achiga out of first.

This is not a Saki episode that I know >< I know what will happen because I read the manga, but surely that shouldn't be enough to make me fall asleep on this episode?! That usually wasn't a problem before... First, what exactly is that BGM? I was expecting something more epic sounding at least and this set almost made me fall asleep. Seriously. Couldn't they have picked a livelier track? And here I was thinking I would never ever have a cause to complain about the BGM of Saki. I also didn't notice it while reading the manga but the whole sequence has too much comments and explanations. It kept breaking up the action and thus the tension of the match was lost. .... ... ... Sigh ... ... I'll try to re-watch this with subs. If she had a Ura-dora 4 from the chun, it will be 11 han or 6000/12 000 from all. Shiraitodai will be 111 500 and Achiga will be 105 500 and Awai gets first. But, since her ura-dora was negated, it's 7 han or 3000/6000 from the rest. Final score as shown above.
