Technically, we're roughly in the equivalent of the Persona 3 window. The Persona 4 window will be in 2015.

I think that we actually know a fair bit given that it still hasn't actually been announced yet. At this stage, it's sort of out of the ordinary to know anything about a game, but we know that they're working on a new engine and so forth.

As the original comment goes, the poster stated PS3, Vita, and 3DS. Well, the Wii has passed away and the WiiU isn't doing good right now and the XBOX360 is obsolete in Japan, so PS3 would be a good decision for a home console. But since there were two handhelds, I compared them.
Yes, I know that you can only use the WiiU since the 3DS is murdering everything, but you know...
Are you still trying to assert that the Vita isn't a viable development platform?

Whether I believe so is one thing, but if you really think I was asserting that in the post you quoted, then rather, it seems you are asserting it

I'm not even sure what you're trying to say, but it should be obvious that I think that the Vita is a viable platform for a developer like Atlus.

If you really think so, then I don't know how you found my post even a centimeter criticizing the Vita. In other words, you are overreacting.
I didn't mention any numbers or said the Vita was failing or anything of that sort. I said both were handhelds and said I compared them because they both were handhelds. And then out of the blue, you're saying I am saying the Vita isn't viable because... I said I compared them (past tense)?

Social media killed the fourms .

Not great though that the first real news out of them in the last while (aside from sales on their current stuff) is the forum shutting down. Not the end of all things either, but hardly good news.

Now that Atlus is owned by Sega, who else is looking forward to seeing Sega characters in Atlus games (and vice versa, kind of like how Dante from Capcom's Devil May Cry showed up in Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne)?

Those of you who have played the Ryu Ga Gotoku series from Sega will know that the main character, Kazuma Kiryu, has the option to hang out in pole dancing/hostess clubs. There's an interesting crossover picture that shows what might have happened if Kazuma was hanging out in the "Marukyu Striptease" level just before the main party met Shadow Rise, staring at her like he often does to the pole dancers in his own games.

Something like that could definitely happen now.

In other words, Atlus USA has started hating its fans so much that they're outsourcing discussion to inadequate platforms. Sounds like business as usual when you put it into the context of the IT sector (as games are really nothing more than specialised computer programs in the end).

Saw an interesting bit on The Magic Box today:

Quote:
After Sega acquired Index Corporation (parent company of Atlus), Sega Sammy's COO Naoya Tsurumi was appointed as the new president of Index. Tsurumi said that Atlus now have access to Sega's dormant IPs, such as Sakura Taisen, Skies of Arcadia, Valkyria Chronicles and others; which means Atlus can one day revive classic Sega IPs, but nothing is on the table yet.
It would be nice to see another Skies of Arcadia.

Technically Atlus is already taking advantage of Sega's assets since P4D is using Project Diva's MikuMikuDance engine.

You mean they outsourced P4 to Dingo. In other words, you probably won't see Atlus working on those titles that you (including me) wanted to see. Rather, you might see those developers working on Atlus materials.

Not if it's made by a different team.

It's the other way round since Persona Dancing is being developed by the same team that made Project Diva Hatsune Miku.

While the prospect is certainly very appealing to have Atlus revive Sega classics, i doubt we'll be hearing any news regarding that anytime soon as Atlus generally only have 2 in house production team (AFAIK, SMT team & Persona team) and both team are currently working on Persona Q and Persona 5.

I think we'll probably see their team tapping into Sega franchise only after those games are out.
