I sometimes like looking at fanart of pictures with a "If they mated" basis, where the fanartist speculates as to what the hypothetical children of a canon couple in an anime would look like.

That's nice, but it depends on fanart, of course. So an alternative that I think could also be kind of fun is noticing anime characters in one show that "if they mated" could conceivably produce a child that looks like an anime character in a different show.

Think of this as being similar to the old "separated at birth" thing you sometimes see people do with celebrities just for shits and giggles. So, again, this is just for fun, nothing serious.

Anyway, here are two "if they mated" examples to start the ball rolling. They both involve Valvrave and Madoka Magica.

What "if they mated" ideas can you think of? Feel free to use an all-girl or all-guy pairing if you want, just assuming some sort of magic or technology enables them to produce a child that's a biological offspring of both halves of the pairing. Pairings also don't have to be canon pairings, though I would consider it a matter of "bonus points" if it is a canon pairing that you're using.

Gosick had three children, Kamisama no Memochou (recluse loli), Dantalian no Shoka (loli who likes books) and Ikoku Meiro no Croisee (Japanese stuck in a foreign land).

Natsuki Kuga from Mai-HiME is obviously the mother of Midori Naha from Telepathy Girl Ran. She resembles Natsuki so strongly its hard to tell who her father might be. Which is probably a good thing since that way Shizuru can't go yandere on him.

That is just incredible. If that's not intentional (on the part of whichever work came later), then it is one amazing coincidence.

I think this character from Akuma no Riddle looks like the offspring of Sayaka from Madoka Msgica and Joe from Gokaiger. Although she doesn't seem to have inherited an affinity for swords.

That works pretty well. Given how almost everybody in Tokaku's family seems to have blue hair and blue eyes, I wouldn't be surprised if Sayaka is related to Tokaku in some way.

I recently noticed that Yuuki Yuuna from Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru strongly resembles the protagonist of Fire Girl:

I guess this can be attributed to the Fire Girl artist being the YuYuYu character designer, but the resemblance is kind of amazing. Also, if you look at the full cover, Fire Girl apparently also features a smug Tougo.

^ That's astounding. It really does look like two pictures of the exact same character, just wearing her hair differently and dressed a bit differently. The facial structure, the eyes, the hair and eye color, everything else looks just about identical.
