short final thoughts (and final of what few posts i made on here before thread is locked)

enjoyable tournament, and the first that ive participated in (though i caught the very end of last year's and read through the previous years after that), and one that was filled with many surprising upsets and close matches, and overall im pleased with the result (and rather surprised that Tsukasa actually made it to the finals), and as far as moe tournaments go, this one i think is the best, theres excitement to be had in getting your vote code, and getting pumped up seeing the votes tally as you wait to vote, and still not always knowing how it ends until voting finishes--alot better than the click-and-your-done (though i did participate in ISML a little bit)

So this thread is gonna be locked? Why can't they just leave it to let us talk about potential new comers from on going series?

Kotomi just had lousy bracket placement and ran into a stronger Kyoto Animation character too soon. Put her in Kirino and maybe Tamaki's division and we'd have 4 Clannad characters in the Top 8! <_<

I blinked and it was over. Too bad I didn't stick around for the entire tournament. I just couldn't bring myself to re-live the stress of 2007 all over again. Congrats to the right girl winning. See ya next year.

I agree, but this topic is huge already, and mods probably can't keep up with it if we were to talk about Saimoe all year long.

So your saying that Tamaki had a weak division despite having to go through Horo, Chiaki, and Shana?

Nope, I'm saying that if Nagisa could beat Tamaki who won that division, Kotomi at least had a chance at winning that division as well.

Shana had beat Kotomi on preliminaries already.

And Tama-chan and Horo were above Shana, so yeah.

Definitely agree that it has to do with bracket position.

BTW, one of Noto-sama's characters, Nodoka Miyazaki (support her in 2009

), did make it to the sweet 16 in 2005, so I wouldn't say they don't go so far.

Preliminary only tells you so much, though. Considering the wide variety of characters you can choose each match.

not that bracket placement is meaningless (we wouldn't have had an all LS final without splitting every LS character into seperate brackets). I am a Kotomi fan, so I would have liken to seen her advance further, but Tamaki did great this year, and is a very moe character. I think she would have had a shot to beat Kotomi. Who knows, maybe nagisa beats Kotomi as well.

Tamaki is more popular than Kotomi in Japan and I have no issue,on the otherhand,Kotomi is stronger than Tamaki in the international class.

Sorry but I have a liking for "tsuntsun" kind of girls.

Funny that 3 of Clannad's characters made it to the top 10 and failed to secure the top 3 places (though Nagisa was pretty close at the 4th place).

P.S It doesn't really matter if Kagami or Kyou from Clannad won IMO. They are the same (well almost).
