Guys!

As I said before, the Floser line from ep11 "Blue is the suicide squad for the main fleet... a specially formed... experimental department?" is a mistranslation. It's not remotely correct, it was obviously a wild guess into the blue. They even indicated as much in the Nyaatorrent comment.

The correct translation is this: "A bi-product substance formed from the implosion of a blue-type Emiru force drive that condenses thought waves??"

So please let's STOP with the "experiment" discussion as if it was a fact. It's not. Azanael is freaking out about this wack entry - the result of the Emiru Force Drive implosion.

Personally, this is my take on it all:

It's obvious that Shivariel knows something we don't know (yet). My theory is that she intentionally had Blue sabotaged, so that the initial contact of Blue and the scouting party turned into a violent disaster. She wants to incite a full-blown war and invasion, and by causing the accident, she successfully laid the foundation. Onomil seemed to notice something before the EFD blew, and I think it was evidence of sabotage. Right now, Shivariel wants to sink Blue at all costs to cover up her crime.

I believe that Onomil is _caused_ by the "substance" created by the EFD implosion. She's the materialization of Ekaril's biggest worry, her feeling of guilt over the catastrophe. Alternatively, maybe she's a materialization of Blue (assuming it has a kind of sentience which enables the substance)

And the people on the island first killed themselves over the "substance"-created hallucinations materializing, and the survivors died due to the incoming tsunami.

Anyway, gimme ep12 now!

I feel sure that those questions will be answered in the last two episodes. If all questions were answered as soon as they arose, the story would be pretty limp.

1. This is also connected with the way touching Mari seemed to almost electrocute Hagino in a later episode.
2. Not sure she discovered anything. That impression is based on just a couple of words immediately before the explosion. But if she did, I'm sure we'll find out. I suspect Azanael may tell Hagino.
3. No. This has to do with emul force in some way. Either the emul force materializes Hagino's thoughts/fears or Blue materializes her from its memory banks. Or something.
4. POssible but not likely. That probably comes from the mistranslation Mentar has pointed out. Maybe there was sabotage intended to cause conflict with the natives that would be a cause for war, but the explosion (or Mari) gave rise to this apparent new self-consciousness of Blue, and maybe to some new property of emul force.
5. As far as the script is concerned, I don't think the tsunami killed people. I think Azanael said that the people and the landing party, having had emul force intensify their fears so that they went crazy, murdered each other. I'm suspecting that the tsunami was meant to clear up traces. But how it's possible to hide 200 dead Arume is a question I'd like to see answered.

Not to sound rude here but the floser subs *just* came out, at least for the sites I go to. So knowing that the ending was probably mistranslated (which as you saw in my post I even mentioned that), I offered some speculation. Even if I'm off on my initial thoughts I still think most of my post holds up knowing the "official" translation now.

Sorry that not all of us are fluent in Japanese or know people who are and can ask them. Some of us can only rely on what's presented to us. When I read back through the posts I saw that I had missed the "mistranslation" post and thought it was only referring to episode 10. Oh well.

Everyone's throwing out theories, and they're hitting all around what I'm thinking without actually hitting it, so I guess I'll chuck in mine.

I would say that the Blue was a prototype delivery system for a test-phase Thought-Arresting Weapon. That would at least explain the natives turning on one another. Also, that's exactly what Mentar's translation suggests.
This being a test, things are liable to go wrong, and they obviously did, which led to the explosions on the Blue.
This would also explain Onomil's appearance to Ekaril: she would be an Emiru-force manifestation of Ekaril's thoughts.
The tsunami was either the result of the shockwave from the explosions on the Blue or a cover-up mechanism deployed by Shivaril. It may also explain how one would hide 200 dead aliens from the government.
Mari still remains an anomaly, though.

Relax, Mentar, I was never taking the experiment thing seriously. I simply meant that Azanael being set up, Ekaril and crew were the sacrificial lambs and now that she's lost control of both Blue and Ekaril, she's doing damage control. Azanael now has to eat a bit of humble pie and it will be interesting to see what she does with the new information that she has obtained. I should have paid closer attention to what I was writing because I did see your note on the mistranslation.

It could also be said that Ekaril never needed to see Onomil as badly as she did then, and maybe strong brainwaves are required to manifest these things.
Actually, both explanations seem equally likely at this point.

Onomil can be a manifestation from Mari's brainwaves. This can explain because Onomil wasn't appeared before. Infact she wasn't appeared for 5 long years and she wasn't appeared yet when, her lover, Azanael was in the ship. It's very strange, isn't?
Suddenly Onomil appears AFTER Mari has seen her for the first time in the hologram and she was told the entire story by Azanael and we mustn't forget that Mari knew already a part of it due to Ekaril's dream.
Infact Mari blanks eyes weren't for rage.....but for shock and sorrow...Mari in this exact moment begins to understand Ekaril difficult position and her feelings (here there is the analogy with Micchi's play).
This is my humble interpretation.

Well seeing as how Mari tends to screw things up with her powers.. it could have been Hagino's natural instinct to try to kill a threat.

Because when Mari touched her, we saw Blue.. Most likely Mari saw that as well.. and Hagino's first reaction is to kill anyone who sees that.. however Hagino quickly realizes who Mari is.. that's why she stands there looking at her hand for so long.

edit: OK now that I think about it.. Hagino knew who Mari was from the moment she saw her.. So I guess that invalidates that.

The real question is why Hagino's eyes turn blue each time she puts on her commander suit.. yet when she doesn't... her eyes are greyish.

I always thought that was her real colour and around her own kind it wasn't out of the norm, but to humans it would have stood out so she toned it down somehow, to blend in more.

Then maybe its a class thing? Anyone above a certain military level, seeing as the only two we've seen with darker hair have been Commandah and Master Commandah.

It doesn't have to have meaning. But it may. I don't see a problem with talking about it.

Plus in the anime, regardless of different personalities (which doesnt really show genetic diversity IMO), all Arume barr Mastah Commandah and Ekaril have white hair with blue eyes. Surely thats a talking point?

The real Onomil is dead. Whats inside Blue is a copy.And Blue react more then a Mother to Hagino... In great pain or distress, Blue let Onomil out of her "Engine World" to help Hagino.. Why she sensed the Brainwaves attacks on Hagino while sleeping?
