Besides, crossover ship rarely got a flax as far as I can remember (Seriously, Bart and Sakura?), this assuming anybody read it in the first place.

Nah, gas mask eyes only glow if you need internal light... which you never need to (the mask also has stealth element most of the time)

Nah, just rule of cool or diffraction effect (like your eyes glowing red in a photo). Notice that everywhere else, it's very dull red, meaning that it has infra-red goggles that relatively stealthy.

Because it is a game, I've never seen a real gas mask light up.

Now, you can still make up some reason for that--gas can obscure your vision, so in addition to protecting you it also allows you to see.

That is a bullshit reason but people will still believe it, maybe.

VECTOR's gas mask lights up in blue as well, but it's shown that he uses some kind of infrared and zoom vision as well. Is this possible?

Well tech marches on, scientist is developing glass that can filter certain light band, so we may see compact infra-red

I'm not sure I can find any explanation for blue goggles though
