I was laughing at the censor in ep. 1. But is it a gag censor or a real censor? I was also laughing at the Haruhi reference at the end of ep. 1.

Haha the Hikki girl is awesome. I loved her "Sensei~~" in the locker XD Ill admit epi 2 I felt didnt have the flow epi 1 had since it was easier to tell that it was two chaps of the manga. Epi 1 to me didnt feel that way but I still loved it!!

It was officially announced as 12 since in Shaft will be working on ef in the fall.

I definitely say it had a better first episode than NHK; the only thing I'm now waiting for is how they're going to pull off a great ending. It's usually not the beginning that's a problem; it's usually the ending.

Physics, I am also a great fan of NHK ni youkoso, but zetsubou sensei never reminded me of NHK. NHK has far more reality to the character, whereas this zetsubou sensei is full of caricatures. Meant solely to be funny to me, at least so far...?

Just saw ep 01, the episode was pretty funny. I haven't seen Negima!? or Shinbo/SHAFT productions, so i thought the art style was pretty interesting, In any case, has anyone managed to compile the entire list of blackboard messages o.O I caught a few of them, most of them were really random.

I think the beginning animation clip from Mr Kureta would make a great ava, could anyone help me make one? It's approx. 00:03 - 00:07 i think. Thanks in advance.

i think Physics meant about the negativity of Sensei and uh that hikikomori in 'NHK'. There was some good "out of this world" stuff in NHK manga that wasn't in the anime.

Since you mentioned some anime references in episode 2, don't forget about the book that Momoiro sensei is reading titled Hachikuro. Also, in the same photo of the guy who is wearing a Konata t-shirt, Tsunetsuki is seen cosplaying as Dejiko of Di Gi Charat. And there is also a poster of a green haired character in Komori's room. Maybe, someone can name that one.

Just finished watching episode 1, wow, this was awesome ! I love that kind of humor, the "make yourself taller" joke made me laugh so hard

The art is great too, kinda remind me of Gankutsuou.

The wordplays in Zetsubou Sensei really bring me back to Yakitate!! Japan. Like the jokes about his name and the "ke"(hair) logo on the hats.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei certainly isn't your conventional comedy (if that's the genre). The dark humour is really interesting and unique, and I was almost drawn into Zetsubou-sensei's world of despair, but that was countered by Kafuka's eternal optimism. Lol. Interesting idea there - hanging oneself = growing taller!

The blackboard scribblings seem really random. Are they supposed to be some sort of cultural/anime/real life references?

I really appreciate the notes at the end of the episode regarding the wordplays on the characters' names. Looking forward to the next episode!

Since it looks like 12 epis is the series (which sucks) if my math is correct and they stay on the 2 chaps per epi like 1 and 2 have been then we'll get through vol 4 of the manga. Since atm its 8 vols and still ongoing Im wondering how much of the sensei's past we're gonna see (if any) since its giving us interesting hints in the ED sequence.

2nd is such a disappointing episode for it sticking with the ED and OP from episode 1. I thought there was a more animated OP than the old moive style opening theme.
