Just started rereading the manga during my lunch break.

I'm surprised how well the anime has followed it. Really excited about the rest of the season.

I noticed they used the 28 days later track In The House - In A Heartbeat. I was like "o dayum", it's gonna become the defacto zombie flick tune.

actually, i think it would be an awesome tune to use at the end of chapter 25.

I always like to know that when I start reading something. Since it’s being published since 2006, I keep wondering...

How many chapters will there be? It’s obviously at the start, isn’t it?

Anyway, nice story, panty shots so far were not a big problem.

the newest chapter was 25 released in april and that was in april before that there was an 8 month haitus and were on another one it would seem.

Guys I wanna be an anime only on this. Is it ok so far from episode 1 anime that MAD HOUSE is following the manga chronologically or they're missing/adding some parts.

Or should I also read the manga?

They're pretty much spot on for the moment with only a couple of scene changes that I've noticed like where they encounter their first one of "them" or where the teacher commits suicide from - same means but different origins.

They've finished Act 1 of the anime at the end of Act 1 in the manga. So we'll see how they perform next week.

As for reading the manga? I'd advise against it as to enjoy the anime fully. Then when the anime finishes it's run you can swap over to the manga then and read ahead if they choose the same route or read a different path if they make a one off ending for the anime.

Which I hope not, I want to see another season of HotD animated after this one!

Well MadHouse did a "Good Ending" on Needless, I think I'll stay with the anime for now just like you said. Though the "a couple of scene changes" intrigues me, but I guess since I've already seen the anime I guess then I'll be an anime watcher for now. Will read the manga later.

They're nothing major.

It's the same situation just the locations are changed. I'm really surprised how much the conversations in the anime nearly go word for word from the manga after rereading it.

I hope they show some of the scenes of the "them" in the states with the Amercian soldiers firing into the masses of creatures.

That'll be interesting indeed. Won't be until the third episode I reckon. I say the anime will end when they arrive at the mall and thinking they're safe.

I'm really loving this manga again. I forgot how much I did enjoy it when I first read it.

The worst they can do is censored the hell up and makes up for it in the DVD/BR release.

However, Shidou and his ideology is part of the story, if they tamed it out, it will be a blow

Specifically the thing one does when one feels dirty. The first time I saw it I was like WTF which makes me believe we'll get it censored on broadcast and the DVDs will likely have them int heir full and... uh... exposed glory.

Suffice to say I may need a blood transfusion after that airing week.

Reading the manga, I think the anime will end when they escape the mansion. If they faithfully wish (should) follow the manga then it would make the perfect cliffhanger for a season two.

No matter the flowery words and worlds he espouses he's still the general maniacal hack. In most cases characters become like this after the stress of the apocalypse causes their psychotic break, but since he was clearly harboring his delusions of grandeur well before shit hit the fan, he's the classic Narcissistic Messiah Complex. Zombie movies wouldn't be complete without some character proclaiming a new world order.

In that sense I really don't find anything special in him. Maybe perhaps his narcissism, but replace him with anyone else with his goal and ideology and you'd still have the same old wannabe-savior.
