Disliked the black rukh Alibaba parts but as a non-manga reader the rest of the episode was fine.

I did enjoy the Alibaba and Aladdin friendship moments because I always enjoy that. The holding hands scene was just dawww. It almost made me forget the stupidity that came moments before .

And Sinbad was pretty GAR which I also appreciated.

Sinbad, Morgiana, and Jafar ended up being my 3 favorite characters.

All the villains in this series were really annoying though.

Aye. Morgiana had better watch out, for the bromance between Alibaba and Alladin is pretty strong.

well anime's ending was the worst for me. in manga ı really like the tension after they got out of Zagan. they conquered zagan and when they were out Al-sarmen black djinn users were waiting for them. it was so exciting and almost killed me to see what would happen next. now all of this has been excluded from the anime. Hakuryu's arc turned into Alibaba arc.

No, it was turned into Anibaba's arc. It's the name of the despicable devil that stole the show from Aladdin and make Alibaba looks like a wuss.

Hey now, don't blame Anibaba. He's a victim born from poor anime original writing. Let's just be grateful for his departure and pray they won't resurrect his corpse for more suffering (on both his and our ends) in the second season.

Anibaba is merely the puppet for Yoshino, he's the real victim

I liked the anime.

Yes, I know I'm "blessed" by the fact that I have not read the manga.

No, I will no longer go into any discussion with anyone who has even taken a peek at the manga.

No, not even when they "disregard the differences", because that's impossible. Your perception is already colored by the experience. It happened to me with Soul Eater, which may or may not have ended pretty good if you hadn't read the manga.

There's some people who haven't read the manga, and still dislike it.

That's ok I guess. But I enjoyed it. I mean not like, the best thing since sliced bread enjoyed it.

Although there's this little thing that people are complaining so much about alibaba being all emo but forgetting the fact that he got cursed/possessed which amplified the doubts that any normal human being would have had in his situation.

Just finished the show, save for some episodes during Cassim's arc and one in the most recent one.

Really enjoyed the series. Never heard of it before, but glad I checked it out. Yamuraiha's reflection spell at the end was so cool and the colors were pretty. Also liked how it was animated.

I've enjoyed all the characters and think the show does a good job with them. Also, i like the motifs the show exemplifies.

There's new info out now about Magi's sequel.

Quote:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...ning-this-fall.
Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine listed the sequel to A-1 Pictures' Magi television anime as "opening" this fall, as opposed to "airing." "Opening" is the term normally used for film releases. The final episode of the Magi television anime series aired in March with the announcement that a sequel was green-lit, but did not indicate how the sequel will be released. The story's setting will take place in Magnostadt.

but... but a movie is too short for this D:
...or if they make it into "episodes" like in Code Geass: Akito the Exhiled tables will be flipped, mostly by me.
(not because it's a bad idea, but the wait is too damn long)

So... *cough* I haven't read the manga, and I marathoned through 22 episodes while rifling through the backlog of this thread. Let's just say that from page 90 or so of the thread, I was engrossed with the remaining part of the thread about anime-original plots and mix-mash canon endings...

Should I continue on? Although I probably will to get it on my finished list...

Yeah, finish it and if you have the chance (or want to for that matter) read the manga C: then you can rant or praise as you wish ^__^.

Imho I liked the anime (though it was because I hadn't read the manga at that point), even if it got... weird , after that I read the manga and I loved it even more

For now, I'm waiting to see how will they "fix" the plot to come back with a great second season while continuing with the manga route

There does seem to be some concern that the second season is actually a movie, as mentioned above, so caution is warranted with expectations.
