Now, if we were talking about some pervert going "OOOOOOH, LOLI *drool*," then I'd be disturbed, but this is Hei; I think we can safely rule him out of the pervert category grouping. (outisde of whatever the fanartists cook up ) If Hei is going to have feelings for Suou, it would obviously be for something he sees in her or her person, not because she's a little kid. Hence, I'm fine with HeixSuou if it happens. As I said in my previous post as well, it wouldn't be the first time couples have waited in anime/JP games. Until then though, they're free to have their feelings. But also as I said, I wouldn't guess a HeixSuou relationship either; not because I think it's disturbing (i've seen the girl end of age-gap relationships with younger girls than Suou in anime/JP games ), but because if Hei were to pick Suou or Yin, I'd bet he would pick Yin since they have more history and involvement. (refer to OVA trailer)

I don't really see that much of a problem. It's perfectly fine and understandable for Suou to develop feelings for Hei. Now there are 2 reasons why I can see people complain about it;
- The age gap difference. I have no complaints for this. We perfectly know Hei won't go for a 13-years-old girl - sexually (to be specific). BONES wouldn't really pull this off. Don't let the fandomism get to you. It would kinda be out of Hei's character and it would really degrade his character in my eyes. If they ever decide to really pair them up, then a time-skip is certainly necessary here. Take example Kenshin and Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin. The difference in the age is almost exactly similar to that of Hei and Suou. Or another example would be Sherry and Harry from Gungrave (though I don't think many people watched Gungrave here). So honestly I think Hei x Suou would turn out perfectly fine. And the other reason; - Shipping. Or more precisely, some of the Yin fans. I perfectly understand their fears of Hei developing feelings for Suou and forgetting about Yin, but I doubt that will happen. I, myself am a Misaki fan. But the amount of time and development Suou has been getting in S2 lead me to ship Hei x Suou as well. I honestly wouldn't mind if Misaki doesn't get paired with Hei, anyone is fine with me; as long as we get a great ending.

Suou's love for Hei is not real love. He's her protector, her caretaker, she's having a normal crush reaction on him. Hei will not have reciprocating feeling for her, he'll treat her as his sister and that is likely to continue even when she's legal.
Now why is the fact that she is in love with Hei blurted out so directly is in my opinion simply because her feelings for Hei will have a big impact on how the season ends. In S1 Hei was teh one that brought the show to an end, he was the Alpha and the Omega of the season and in season 2 that role will be played by Suou. And her feelings will weight heavily on the outcome that will come from them.

Whether or not Hei reciprocates those exact feelings is another matter of course, and I agree that he probably won't. But he definitely doesn't see her as a sister; when Mao asks him if he saw his sister in her (his exact words), Hei tells him, also in these exact words, that he sees himself in her. Well I suppose Bones and the length of the series are at least in part to blame for this; since the series is only 12 episodes Bones didn't do the development of Suou's feelings for Hei very well, so I guess people are having a hard time accepting that Suou is in love with him since it came out of left field a bit back in episode 6. Still, as much as it could have been developed better, the show clearly points out and states her feelings for him.

The fact that she said that she was confused after the Yin thing imo most probably means jealousy even if she wasn't aware (otherwise she wowuld have said it). Looking at in from another way she might get jealous because she has no one except Hei (in general as a person) and before that point he was looking only at her (not in the romantic way but as a person there for her so naturally she got attached to him) and after the "don't shoot" she understood she wasn't the only person Hei cares about thus got jelaous. Also Mao said Suou was in love with Hei yet she had no idea that she was actually in love with him. She's aware that she has feeling but she never said love (all the Nika and Norio confessions and how she felt etc. when she talked about love) And only Mao said it's love. I don't remember hei saying anything. And speaking about Mao he also implied that Hei thinks of Suou as his sister so if we trust Mao there won't be a romantic relationship between them at all (since Hei said he didn't Mao was wrong about Hei's feelings so he might be wrong about Suou's feelings as well meaning the type of love) We as viewers might be aware that it's love or a crush (which is still love) but she isn't - she is just attached to Hei and from what she said she doesn't know the reason. So basically I see it more as a crush due to the circumstances and the fact that she is 13. My point was that both sides (crush or real love) might be right but I don't think a love relationship between Hei and Suou will be there in the end since if there is I think it will really mess up a possible 3rd season and also Hei doesn't seem to love Suou in that way. |

Yesterday, the anime ended its broadcast, but I'm feeling almost full since now I'm just two episodes behind the conclusion to the second series.
Spoiler:
BTW, Mao's in his original, human body seemed like the classic Lupin-esque stereotype. |
