Season 2 Yuru yuri is in the same style as the season 1 if you have love one you love and the two I've ever seen Season 2 of Minami-ke so I could not answer you

If by that you mean jarring changes in character designs, extras made of shadows, and bad comedic excecution then rest asured. Yuru Yuri s2 was handled by the same studio and director. I have to warned you a bit that s2 focus shifts more toward the first years girls than s1. If you like second year girls more, you may find it a little less enjoyable than s1.

So who's you favorite character? Both Kyouko and Chinatsu shared 1st place for me. Kyouko because she comes up with different club activities, and Chinatsu because unlike other characters, she has many facades. There are 3 at least: the Yui fangirl side, the creepy artist/rapist side, and the cynical snarker side.

Halfway through S02 now (episode 07), and meh. S01 made me laugh multiple times per episode, here I barely smiled a couple of times in the whole series.

I finished S2 (just watched episode 12), and generally I liked it.
It's just that S1 made me laugh A LOT, while S2 was much milder. Enjoyable, but much less fun than S1.

As far as S2 vs. S1 goes, what I remember most are the unusual episodes (the sister-focused one, the school play, even time-travelling Akarin) but the ones that were more typical slice-of-life fare aren't so distinctive.

Just finish watching the 1st season of Yuru Yuri, somehow quite an unexpected funny series to me.

Akari-n does reminds me a bit of Carnival Phantasm's Lancer (always has bad luck?) and Kill Me Baby's 'unused-character' (lack of presence yet insists to be more flashy?), and Chitose do reminds me of Maria Holic's Kanako, heh

Will definitely to watch its 2nd season on few days later (most soon).
